The message in Surah Al An’am [ch6] is affirming Allah’s Ruboobiyyah Allah is Al Rabb, the Lord, the Creator, the Bestower of Blessings These universal signs around us from the creation of the Heavens and the Earth, the creation of Light and Darkness, our own creation from Clay

all point to the existence of Allah, the Rabb. “All praise is for Allah Who created the heavens and the earth and made darkness and light” [6:1] “He is the One Who created you from clay” [6:2]

“He is the Only True God in the heavens and the earth. He knows whatever you conceal and whatever you reveal, and knows whatever you do.” [6:3] “We had made them more established in the land than you. We sent down abundant rain for them and made rivers flow at their feet.” 6:6

“Ask ˹them, O  Prophet˺, “To whom belongs everything in the heavens and the earth?” Say, “To Allah!” He has taken upon Himself to be Merciful.” [6:12] “To Him belongs whatever exists in the day and night. And He is the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.” [6:13]

“Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Will I take any guardian other than Allah, the Originator of the heavens and the earth, Who provides for all and is not in need of provision?” Say, “I have been commanded to be the first to submit and not be one of the polytheists.”” [6:14] And so on

Likewise, all these blessings bestowed upon the Creation was bestowed upon us from Allah, the Rabb. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Who rescues you from the darkest times on land and at sea?” [6:63]

“He reigns supreme over all of His creation, and sends recording-angels, watching over you” 6:61 “Say, “˹Only˺ Allah rescues you from this and any other distress,” 6:64 However, the polytheists didn’t deal with the Rabb who bestowed upon them blessings in the manner expected

They did not say: “Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Should I seek a Rabb other than Allah while He is the Rabb of everything?” [6:164] Rather, they rejected the favours that the Rabb bestowed upon them and attributed to the deities they worshipped besides Allah.

Once this chapter enforces in the reader that there’s a Rabb. Once you submit and you say: “Will I take any guardian other than Allah” “I truly fear—if I were to disobey my Lord—the torment of a tremendous Day.”

“Only Allah rescues you from this and any other distress” “ I have turned my face towards the One Who has originated the heavens and the earth being upright” “Surely my prayer, my worship, my life, and my death are all for Allah Lord of all Worlds”

Next is to figure out what is it that the Rabb wants from me. The answer is in Surat Al A’raaf [ch.7] The Rabb didn’t leave mankind alone to do what they wish. Rather, He sent them Aayaat [signs] with Messengers. How did mankind react? This is the message of Surah Al A’raaf

Surah Al A’raaf deals with the Ilāh. That we have a Ma’bood to worship and obey His Message and Legislation. That we have a Messenger sent to us to access this Message and Legislation.

“˹This is˺ a Book sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺—do not let anxiety into your heart regarding it—so with it you may warn ˹the disbelievers˺, and as a reminder to the believers.”
