1) I talk to plenty of people who haven't met anyone else involved in Effective Altruism before In fact I can often be even more useful to these folks! (I feel like it's such a privilege for me to be in this position 😊)

2) I talk to plenty of people who only just came across EA a few months ago Like people who googled "careers that do good" and found 80k's website and thought it really spoke to them :)

3) Literally everyone I talk to has more things they could learn about EA If you've e.g. checked out The Precipice or listened to 10 episodes of the 80k podcast or even done an in depth EA fellowship congrats you probs know enough for advising! :D (More than me 5 years ago)

4) Literally everyone I talk to has some things they are confused about on cause prioritisation or philosophy. Hard same! 😬 I've never talked to anyone who knows all the answers, not even @robertwiblin or @willmacaskill

5) I talk to tonnes of people who are just starting out in their career and don't know what would be best to do Should they apply for the civil service? Or try and get a job in the tech sector? Would they be a good fit for a masters? What courses should they even do at uni???

6) I talk to a bunch of folks who are super nervous about how competitive job applications are, especially at EA organisations, and aren't sure if they'll be good enough This is so understandable! Job applications are roooough. I'd love to help if I can. 💚

7) I talk to toooonnes of people who haven't done the 80k career planning process or idk spent a month reflecting on their goals and researching careers or something Some people are big on the planning themselves! But by far and away most people haven't done this. :)
