It is the me too year for C++. Our local Meetup was talking about holding in person events again. A company offered to host a few meetings. As a volunteer organizer I stood my ground and said we need covid protocols and some form of CoC to ensure the safety of attendees. 1/4
Jon Kalb is one of the other 5 organizers and he made it clear he was angry that I spoke up. He demanded my silence and said we need to accept whatever this company is offering, without question. Otherwise, we risk losing the meeting place. 2/4
Jon decided to send an email to multiple people "proposing" that I resign since we do not agree on a direction for the group. Without waiting for my reply, Jon made his point by deleting my organizer account to the Bay Area ACCU Meetup group. 3/4
It is clear that if you do not agree with Jon Kalb and what he wants, you will be evicted. My intention was safety and his seems to be squashing dissent. This is not the inclusive C++ community we deserve. @cppcon @accubayarea @accuorg 4/4
