What's the video game equivalent of a cinephile? It's not "gamer," that describes a pretty surface-level infatuation. I need a pretentious word to describe myself, basically.

And yes this is a setup. I put myself in the Twitter dunk tank. Do your worst.

@SirLarr Video Gamianado

@Diction Perfect. It will take me ten full seconds to say this and it will involve a lot of vibrato.

@SirLarr homo ludens, duh

@blooblee1 Damn, a cut as deep as it is correct

@SirLarr Game taster, the one who hones the taste of games

@irlspidey [smacks lips] exquisite

@SirLarr A gámer. Has much more class.

@SirLarr A video game gourmand😂

@SirLarr Virgin

@SirLarr Bethespian

@SirLarr Yeah I'm a Gamer: G A M E Racist

@SirLarr In Germany we call it a Hurensohn. It shows great determination so you should absolutely put it in your bio :^)

@SirLarr A "Gameur

@SirLarr gamephile sounds wrong

@SirLarr Quintessential gamer

@SirLarr Videoludophile.

@SirLarr How about smiply : ludophile ? In french there’s a classy word for music lover: mélomane; I reckon we could come up woth something involving video games… ludomane/ ludomaniac? 😂

@SirLarr Quintessential gamer

@SirLarr Describe yourself in third person as The Player Character and if anyone ask what games you’re playing tell them you don’t “pLaY gAmEs” you “experience art in four dimensions”

@SirLarr Gaming aut-eur-istic. A blend of the classy and the obsessive.

@SirLarr Since there is bio such word in the dictionary yet, you're legally allowed to just name it after yourself. Sonntagphilia

@SirLarr Pedophile, I think it suits quite well

@SirLarr Quintessential Gamer

@SirLarr Pixelier. Like sommelier.

@SirLarr Xx Gamer xX

@SirLarr qu-quintessential...?

@SirLarr Person of play

@SirLarr There’s no noun, but you can describe yourself as “quintessential” and it’ll work

@SirLarr Omg me too, lemme know when you find the word

@SirLarr A dork

@SirLarr A gamerphiliac if you will

@SirLarr Unfortunately, it just may be the addition of the adjective “hardcore” ahead of “gamer”.
