People have been PISSED over AI art. I believe it's incredible how far it has come in so little time. I look forward seeing it evolve into something beyond. As a child I watched my friends draw using references and grow as an illustrator. I see that happening again now...

While our moderators voted to not allow AI works, I've already seen a point where no one will be able to tell. There is no solution as there is no problem to solve. We should embrace and encourage it to continue to grow, and become more talented than it is.

@gelbooru Conflicted. On one hand, it has the potential for amazing illustrations, and mimic artists styles to delve into more tags. But on the other hand, can see users flooding the archives in a short amount of time. Users with a lotta time on their hands constantly uploading - "Grover"

@gelbooru Theres bad AI art where someone put no time into a prompt and then there actual multi paragraph masterpiece prompts where you get what you want the first time and with perfect quality. But being real, people have jumped on it so hard due to how many people get burned by artists

@gelbooru I didn’t know you childhood dream was to become an AI artist

@gelbooru I will not embrace it for as long as it continues to thrive off of stolen art. It can go to hell for all I care until regulations are put in place.

@gelbooru I don't have much skin in this game, however, I will post this.

@gelbooru I am a rubbish artist but AI spat out an acceptable approximation of what I had in mind for a DnD character and I think that's a very neat thing to have access to

@gelbooru I absolutely disagree. AI art isnt even an art. its just result of few calculations. Keep those away from that site thank you. I'll never embrace this technology.

@gelbooru You like plagiarism? Are you familiar with how these programs work or do you think its magic? Where do you think the training data comes from? Uncredited artists unable to opt out. Ripped off by some loser with an Nvidia card - one hand on his mouse, the other on his balls...

@gelbooru Just make an "AI Generated" tag, so that people can blacklist it if they don't like it... I can't believe people are making that big of a deal of it...

@gelbooru AI generated arkwork is fake artwork.

@gelbooru the problem is not the AI origin is the noise that will be generated, TBH there is a lot of low quality amateur content that is already overwhelming to browse to find a few good pieces

@gelbooru In my opinion, it should have a tag and that's all

@gelbooru I see big booba, i hit the like button, no matter if its human made or not.

@gelbooru Its just ironic that AI has taken over a lot of stuff and we didn't care. Suddenly it encroaches on the wrong thing and now we have to try to hunt down AI images. Imagine a future where every image needs a 10 minute live stream and if the stream is sus you are banned for being AI

@gelbooru I honestly had no idea there was controversy about it or that there were people out there so adamantly opposed to AI artwork... But I guess people will take up arms against anything these days...

@gelbooru I don't think there is point to filtering, neither can we reliably do so. Art is art in the end, and that's that.

@gelbooru It is simply a matter of friggin categorization ffs.... You don't race biceclyes against submarines.. You don't place AI generated pixels next in the same area as artwork...... The solution to there being not AI generated images posing as artworks among actual artworks is a

@gelbooru "I for one envision a future where anyone wanting to make a living as an artist better have rich parents, because tons of gigs will be taken by AIs. It's incredible how far its come in so little time!"

@gelbooru I don't have problems with AI art in general. But in practice, the most popular modules are flawed. Busted hands and legs, trouble with handling more than one character onscreen consistently, and low resolutions to save on computing resources.

@gelbooru There was a LOT of angry monks and scribes where when first text press machine was made ...

@gelbooru I can agree at how incredible they look but i'm sad that people hate them (and websites keep deleting them without violating the policies). I think ai gen images can lead other artists into new ideas and inspirations keep the market alive (at least i would compare it like this).

@gelbooru Besides, there's already a fuckload of fanart made by humans that is entirely based on digital. Most of the fanart you see on the internet is digital. What changes, exactly?

@gelbooru People are upset because this is a replacement for the artists, they want to see it as a tool when it is not. AI arts keep improving with every passing moment and if we are already saturated with AI arts, imagine in 2 years. Yeah, it's the end, but people don't want to hear it

@gelbooru Before submitting an image you may display a checkbox "AI generated art? Yes/No". Then "ai_generated" tag will be automatically added to a picture.

@gelbooru It should absolutely NOT be allowed whatsoever, nor be acceptable by any means.

@gelbooru The first day I saw an AI generated picture bleed into Facebook (the busty women in historical outfits, if you're curious), literally 3 posts beneath I saw an actual artist of Princess Zelda, in a pose, shape and outfit inspired by the AI product. Art is safe.

@gelbooru there should be a Booru site that only allows AI art to be posted instead.

@gelbooru Idk bros, I suppose I agree with it not being "art" but it's still an image, a depiction of something. Be honest people, you don't care about who drew it, you care about how it looks. So if it looks good/to your liking, why does it matter?

@gelbooru just make a tag for AI art

@gelbooru AI art is great as long as it's curated for quality and people don't just post every deformed monstrosity SD spits out.

@gelbooru til now people who live off art have been able to mostly avoid being replaced by computers. every other industry has. I don't understand why artist think that what they do is somehow special and actively try to suppress an inevitability instead of adapting like everyone else has.

@gelbooru My opinion is Yeah i dont really like it like if u enter a contest of human people made art, you shouldn't use something generated by AI, it should be a separate contest of AI art only, lile how theres different Olympics.

@gelbooru And why forbiding people to bring their ideas into life and spread them to increase variety of ideas? There are more then enough people that doesn't mind the ai-gen behind it. I can tell because i uploaded a hand full to http://chan.sankakucomplex.com and they recieved an 4-4,8/5 rating

@gelbooru human art AI art alien art i cant see the deference between its art my friend's so lets enjoy

@gelbooru The thing is, like you said, there is a point where no one can tell, so with this you ENSURE there will be unmarked AI art. If you allowed it and required a tag (even if that tag is filtered out by default) you'll end up with people that don't want to see it seeing less of it.
