Very old jd isekai AU that was supposed to be multi chap fic now turned thread because I don't know when I'll have time to actually write the whole thing. kdj gets isekai'd in his favorite webnovel, right at the epilogue scene when yjh, the protagonist, dies.

Having lost all his companions and being seen as a villain by everyone, including the readers who either dropped or kept reading just to post rage comments towards the story, the protagonist finally accomplished his purpose.

In the final battle, yjh had been betrayed by his own side but still managed to defeat the traitors, followed by all the original enemies, showing an unimaginable level of strength until there was no one left to witness it. Although it ended costing him his life.

Right after reading it on the screen of his phone, kdj woke up in the middle of that same dead battlefield, only to see it with his own eyes. It didn't take long to recognize it for what it was, even worse than he imagined while reading.

The fishy smell of blood and other fluids released by the corpses, the bodies littered everywhere until you couldn't see the ground, and a single person standing in the middle of it, where not even the crows that rejoiced at the feast would approach.

Someone who became a monster for a righteous purpose, a protagonist who became the 'villain' of his own story. No one had been able to kill him, but the countless wounds accumulated during this battle were his doom. In the novel he died alone, yet there kdj was.

Seeing the undefeated figure stagger, kdj hurried to support the man without thinking about the ridiculous situation he was in. "Yjh, you sunfish. Wake up." The man stirred in his hold, just barely. Kdj saw his once black eyes peering at him, now gray and unable to see

who was right in front of him. His arm twitched, but refused to listen any more than that one sluggish movement. If he was his original self, kdj would've already been cut in half. But this wasn't the strong protagonist he knew. The stubborn guy who refused contracts from

Constellations who so many people worshipped. The guy who swore to avenge his little sister, nor the one who lost all his allies one by one. He wasn't the overpowered protagonist who fought against the world and ruthlessly killed all his enemies,

without ever showing the slightest hint of weakness, gaining the reputation of a real monster. The protagonist kdj lived his whole life reading about had now reached his ending.

'No.. nonono' It couldn't be real. It had to be a nightmare. If something like entering a novel was real, kdj should've been brought to its beginning, not at the the end, when it's too late to change anything.

"hold on you bastard. you'll be fine, there's definitely a way to fix you, so hold on." There had to be. Why else would he be there? There had to be some way to fix everything. [^nukuonu ◾️◾️!nterf!3d M!th th3 ◾️◾️] ['st!gw@ r3gress!0u !s @(t!v@t3d!]

After hearing an unknown voice speak directly into his mind, a terrible headache made kdj feel like someone repeatedly smashed his skull with a hammer. A blinding golden light enveloped them, making kdj instinctively hold yjh closer to himself. Then everything went black.

. . . [integrating singularity in main worldline] [assigning a suited role] [assimilation complete - 'Constellation'] [your current constellation modifier is '???'] . . .

..... There was a certain Temple in the Capital. Unlike many others, this one was by far the biggest and most glamorous, used for main events such as the one everyone was currently preparing for. With so many important figures coming and going, no one was paying attention to

the Temple workers, cladded in simple white robes. Especially not the plain looking face of the person who swiped the floors, so no one noticed kdj raising his head from time to time to glance at the newly arrived guests, recognizing the faces and names of each important one.

A week passed since kdj first woke up in the middle of the battlefield, and another week passed since he turned back time (something he only later understood). After waking up that second time, kdj found out a few things. One. A random priest found him passed out

and brought him to the infirmary with the other injured or sickly people, confusing him with one of them. Two. Everything was indeed not a dream but reality, and somehow time had been rewinded to before the main story actually started.

Three. Kdj was receiving indirect messages from a System, explaining some of the situation. Because he was an outside factor, the System assigned him the best role It saw him fit for - which apparently was a Constellation.

In just one moment, kdj became one of the beings the protagonist despised the most. Because of it though, he'd been able to rewind time. Or rather, because his existence itself was an error in the System, kdj could 'edit' the world between some degrees.

It wasn't clear how his abilities worked since the System itself couldn't completely read his soul, but from making a flower bloom to a stone disappearing into thin air, he could influence things. The backlash it had over his own body wasn't pretty though.

It was weird to say the least. The entire situation aside, kdj wasn't sure why he became a Constellation. In the original story, they were one of the biggest plot mysteries but their existence was explained in the latter half of the novel.

They were important figures, protagonists so to say, from different worldlines. On short, as long as their achievements were remarkable enough, they had a chance to become a Constellation of this world. They were supposted to help and advice people, but beginning with the

damn constellations of Olympus, more and more of them began dictating too much over how things worked. This world had no concept of Gods and Goddesses, but the way humans started worshipping the Constellations became something similar, if not more. It was almost slavery.

The story started with the Succession Ceremony, where each contestant is supposed to receive the support of a Constellation. That's when yjh refuses to swear a loyalty oath, and he instantly gains enemies from every side. ...And now kdj was one of the said enemies.

To make it worse, the System kindly let him know that thanks to him rewinding time before his existence had even been detected, an error occured and yjh retained all his memories. An indirect message asked if he wanted to use his power to fix that, however kdj refused.

It was a good thing that yjh remembered what had happened so that he would not repeat the same mistakes and trust people who would betray him. Although that meant his hate for Constellations was already bigger than in the original story, it would be fine as long as kdj

lent him aid from the distance. All he had to do was make sure yjh didn't know what he was so that kdj's head remained on his shoulders. Kdj looked down from the second floor of the temple, to where the ceremony was undergoing.

The Succession Ceremony was this world's fight for the throne. Anyone could participate in theory, but mostly only those with royal blood did, since they already had the advantage of having most connections. Yjh, the illegitimate son of a duke, wasn't seen as a strong opponent.

Of course, even the weakest rival could become the most dangerous as long as they received the support of a strong Constellation, but that too wasn't the case with the protagonist. The reason why yjh entered the battle for the throne in the first place was because

he saw how messed up the world became because of the Constellations' influence over it, and he wanted to rid the people of the kingdom from the mentality of needing Constellations' help for every little thing. Not many agreed, and his refusal has been seen as an insult
