"Are you here for a confession?" "...I don't believe in such nonsense." yjh didn't even look at him, glaring at the altar as if staring down an old enemy. It wasn't far from the truth. "You don't have to." kdj responded, and after seeing the surprise on yjh's face,

he made himself sound more like a devoted believer. "Constellations are higher beings, so how could their judgement be the same as ours? This is something just for you, not them. Servants aren't allowed to speak of what they hear during a confession, you see. Arson or murder,

you can get rid of all the burdens. You might want to be judged, or just listened to. Either way, it's easier than to carry it all alone." After saying everything, kdj had a thought. 'I sound like a conman.' There was no way yjh would fall for it.

"What burden would a murderer deserve to easen, then?" The protagonist's words startled him. "Are you such a person?" "I am." yjh confirmed, waiting for his reaction. Kdj swallowed, knowing that he wasn't the type who'd just confess to something like this. He could die here.

"Was it intentional?" "Most of the times." Kdj wanted to punch him. Was yjh really going to say everything now and then kill him? "Well...intention matters the most. If you killed someone to protect another, you can be forgiven.

But if you're also referring to the deaths of those who died because you failed to protect them, then you're just an idiot." Yjh looked like he'd been slapped. Kdj continued. "If it's indeed the latter, then you could say you don't deserve relief."

It sounded cruel, but kdj knew yjh won't forgive himself for the deaths of his companions anyway. In that case, it was better for kdj to just insult him until he felt punished enough. "I mean, look at you. How can you even fail to protect anyone, you big oaf?"

"You..." the protagonist seemed one second away from adding kdj to his list of intentional kills. "Just fix it." he spoke before yjh did anything. "Of course, you can't revive the dead. But you can start living a different life. Pay for what you've done,

not by living like a depressed sunfish, but by changing things for the better. So that when you look back on it, you won't have any regrets." Kdj hoped he didn't give away too much information.

After a long time of staring at him with a complicated expression, yjh finally opened his mouth. "...What is a sunfish?" . . .

Kdj recalled how their conversation ended. "Someone useless like you." He blurted that out before he could stop himself, dumbfounding yjh once more. The protagonist regained his cool faster this time, staring down at kdj with rightful anger. "I'll be back."

He strode out of the temple, leaving those ominuous words behind. 'Nope.' After processing what had just happened, kdj decided to make sure they never cross paths ever again. Lest he wanted yjh to kill him not for being a Constellation, but for being too annoying.

. . . Try as he might, avoiding yjh didn't work. The protagonist kept coming to the temple regularly, asking for kdj specifically each time. It should've been a priest's job to listen to confessions, and there were more than enough who would've wanted to create connections

with yjh, who even though didn't have the best reputation, he /was/ a noble who received a strong constellation's support. Alas, no one could argue with the scary bastard if he demanded something. Thus kdj was stuck in the same temple room as him for one hour during each visit.

It wasn't even as if yjh was confessing to any sin. To /anything/ really, because the guy just kept his mouth shut until the end. Every time kdj was forced to ramble about nonsense just so that they won't sit in awkward silence. "..." "What are you looking at."

"Your ugly mug." kdj answered out of petty, quickly clenching his hands together when he felt the protagonist's murderous aura. "It really makes me appreciate the Constellations, who watch over us with equal love no matter how murder-inclined some of us might be."

Looking at yjh, kdj wondered how the guy's veins didn't explode already. Rather than having an anger outburst though, yjh just let out a long sigh. Before kdj could annoy him again, the taller man shoved a basket in his arms, making the former raise a brow.

"Eat." Yjh not quite suggested as much as ordered. "Your horrendous self care seems to worsen your brain by the minute." Kdj gasped, offended. He opened the basket and grabbed a random dish from it, just so he could insult yjh's cooking in return, but stopped once he tasted it.

Damn the protagonist and his cheat skills... The food was so good kdj felt like crying. Yjh stared blankly at him as he silently ate, kdj promptly ignoring that gaze. If the corner of his lips twitched for a moment, no one but him could tell.

Basically the original novel's plot goes on but this time everything is solved pretty smoothly. Even when things are getting rougher and there unavoidably are new traps going on, kdj uses his powers to turn the situation in yjh's favor.

Yjh slowly realizes that kdj is the unknown Constellation who helps him (thanks to that one last life's memory and little things kdj blurts out by mistake), but he doesn't plan to reveal that he knows it. At first yjh wants to see where kdj is trying to go with everything,

and what his aim is, but in the end he concludes that kdj is just a fool (correct). From that point on yjh is waiting for kdj to open up by himself and reveal his identity but kdj never does, which makes him frustrated. Even more after realizing that kdj's powers are

hurting him (he connects the dots because every time there's an incident kdj looks paler, sicker, etc.) Because of that, yjh tries to make sure there are no occasions when kdj is forced to use his powers to help and in rest just pretends to remain

oblivious to kdj's painfully bad acting, but the last straw is after an event where a lot of the power is being used. Everyone is in awe at the display of power but yjh goes pale when he sees it and rushes to the temple.

Priests and workers don't know who/where kdj is because he never stands out so it takes a lot of time for yjh to find out that he took a day off and retreated to his chamber. When he sees kdj in that small and cold room, collapsed with blood around his mouth, yjh finally snaps.

If kdj wants to keep his little secrets then that's fine, but yjh wasn't going to let his star out of sight anymore. When kdj wakes up (days later) he finds himself in a large, spacious room and he's naturally confused as to why he's there.

Servants simply treat him as if he lived there for years and when kdj finally finds the owner of the mansion - yjh - the said man too acts as if everything is normal. Kdj can accept the fact that yjh found him collapsed and brought him to his home for treatment, but why is he

stopped from returning to the temple even after weeks have passed?? Every time he tries to mention leaving, yjh will just shove some food or books in his face, or someone else will distract him in some sort of way. The guards politely stop him and ask him to go back inside

if he walks to the front gate by himself. Any questions about how long will he be there are ignored and just met with responses about something completely different, like the weather. And what kdj hates the most is how fast he became accustomed to this new life.

It's hard not to get lost in all the countless books from the big library, or to think about leaving when yjh has him sitting on his lap, arms wrapped around his middle and head nuzzled in the crook of his neck. After meeting lhs, jhw, ljh, hsy, ysa and more others

it's even harder to leave because for the first time (both on Earth and in this worldline), kdj feels like he has a family. Like he belongs somewhere. At this point he can't even tell why he would try to leave anymore.

They complete the plot while kdj is being non-consensually pampered by yjh and slowly trained by kimco into accepting that he's being loved. some plot point about hsy (a constellation who wasn't mentioned in the original story) having been tasked with

scribblind down the history of this worldline, records which would appear in the form of simple stories in other worlds. Kdj was the only one genuinely

interested in the story from the beginning until the end so when he commented on the epilogue that it can't possibly end like this, hsy made up her mind and used her powers to isekai him. After time is rewinded she loses her memories so she doesn't know why she lost her powers.

Which leads her to believe that kdj, a Constellation who appeared out of nowhere with editing powers similar to hers, is the culprit. Until they find out the truth. so y yjh manages to take the throne, this time with all his companions alive and the kingdom not destroyed

He changes the messed up rules and destroys the temples of Olympus (but builds one for a certain unnamed constellation because he's a hypocrite. Kimco side eyeing him for it. They all know he's crazy while kdj remains oblivious but as long as the fool is safe, then whatever.)
