I have coached a wide range of Amazon sellers in the past few months. Compiled are 10 lessons I’ve learned throughout the process that WILL help you succeed. (bookmark this one) 🧵🧵🧵
1) Get a new laptop. I know, this is really a tip? Yes. You’re laptop speed is slowing you down a ton. Spend the money (it’s an expense) and upgrade. You shouldn’t be waiting 5-10 seconds to open new pages. Super inefficient and throws off rhythm.
2) Stop “thinking outside the box”. I know, you’re a genius. You have so many good ideas. 99.9% don’t matter. Listen to what people that know what they are doing, do what they say, get results. It’s all very simple. Over complicating will kill your biz.
3) Systems are important. I don’t just mean complex “systems” to complete a larger task. I mean how you start your day sourcing, how long you allocate time to a task, etc. These small things create consistency that is a non-negotiable for running an Amazon business.
4) Action beats all. As soon as you learn something new, have a hunch, and so on You HAVE to take action quick. If you don’t, someone else will. The people I’ve coached who take action immediately do FAR better than those who wait.
5) You HAVE to spend. Shocking, you have to spend money to make money in an inventory business. Although I am big on learning - the only way you actually learn is through buying. Make mistakes, get some wins, build your own data. Spend more, profit more.
6) Recognize patterns. This is immensely important. If you do not have the ability to recognize patterns in - a) sales cycles b) pricing c) your mistakes/wins You are in for a very, very rough journey. Write significant stuff down if your brain can’t hold it.
7) Set realistic expectations. Just because kids come on to socials pushing 6 figure months in their first few months, doesn’t mean you will. There is ALWAYS more to that story. Don’t over-leverage and get fomo. It will create terrible holes in your biz. Slow and steady.
8) Nearly all of these Amazon gurus have mushy brains - stop listening to their “rules”. They non-stop give horrible advice and info. Yes, even the most popular ones. You have to retrain your brain to not listen to the majority of what they say.
9) Cut down on your software. You only need a few softwares/extensions. When you open a new website your screen shouldn’t go off like a war zone. Efficient, effective sourcing.
10) When large opportunity is presented, you HAVE to take advantage. If you see a product on sale that seems too good to be true, you have to deploy capital. These “unicorn” type opportunities truly rarely happen and just hitting 2-5 of these a year can make you 6 figures.
If you found any of this helpful - would appreciate a RT I will be taking a few 15 min consulting calls for guys that RT and DM (must be doing over $10k rev a month)
