A supplement containing BCAAs, L-citrulline, and alpha-GPC improves high-intensity cycling performance in trained male cyclists. https://www.tandfonline.com/do...

@B_Holmer L-citrulline can trigger terrible canker sores and oral lip cold sores in sensitive individuals. Just a heads up.

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Any idea what a reasonable dose is for a 200ish pound guy? L-citrulline is in nearly every pre-work out I like.

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Similiarly to L-arginine in high doses.

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Curious on your thoughts just around alpha gpc. Used it a couple of times and initially enjoyed it but experienced a strong crash later in the day.

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Imagine a bumble bee slamming into your canker’d lip as you’re riding at 30 mph…

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Canker or cancer

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer I can vouch for that, used to get them all the time when I took pre workout

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer I get those from certain nuts, generally pecans.

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer I've heard taking L-Lysine concurrently can reduce this effect, any truth to that?

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Why does alpha-GPC make me sleepy?

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Arginine too, right 🤔😬

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer But I take l-citrilline daily like this dude :/

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer So that’s why.

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Nowadays people will just take ANYTHING to improve themselves, no even thinking of the risks later

@hubermanlab @B_Holmer Doc. Been making my own preworkout for years. Stim free Citrulline -8g Agmatine sulfate -6g Beta Alanine -3g Anything I should change, add, remove, etc? I don't like premade mixes.
