I had "TOYED" with the idea that I MIGHT post the video a day early to my NINE (9!) "early access" Patreon members, as I teased on the video chat, but decided against it. Instead, I was going to MAYBE post it an HOUR early (which STILL would've been a HUGE mistake, I admit)

I failed to communicate this to my team, and so my assistant, following our standard protocol for releasing videos, posted it on Patreon as soon as it was done. She did this despite her own judgement telling her not to, because, again, I forgot to update her otherwise. MY mistake

For convenience, the video was posted using our internal Vimeo account, which we use for reviewing pre-release content, rather than Patreon's own video hosting. This made it liable to be "leaked" by digging up the embed URL. And that's exactly what someone did.

From there, you all know what happened. Things began spreading far and wide, while my team and I slept, which meant we were unable to do damage control or fix our screwup.

This lapse in judgement has taken the wind out of the sails for both creators and for Bambu Lab, which will very seriously and negatively impact everyone involved. I am completely mortified.

To those suggesting this was "planned" to generate buzz: it was not. I assure you, this mistake has cost me DEARLY. Forget about lost views or affiliate revenue; I've broken TRUST and destroyed an extremely important relationship...

...But also relationships with PEOPLE, whom I consider friends. Fellow creators, the team at Bambu Lab. All of it. These RELATIONSHIPS are what matter to me. A LOT. And in one lapse of judgement, I irreparably damaged them.

That's my burden to bear. I fucked up, failed to communicate to my team, and then, placed trust in our community, instead of taking the embargo MUCH more seriously. What kills me, though, is the impact my oversight has had on other creators, and on Bambu Lab's launch as a whole.

I can only hope that the launch goes well from here, both for creators, and for @BambulabGlobal. This is a phenomenal printer, created by wonderful people, and as you can tell, I was SO excited (perhaps too excited...) to share it with the world and celebrate their achievements.

So, from the bottom of my heart: I'm so, so sorry. I know, first hand, how hard we all work on these videos and launches, and I never intended to steal all of your collective thunder. I screwed up - massively, and I can only hope to earn back the trust of this community.

You market your Patreon for “early access” but in order to provide early access to info and hints your incentive structure is misaligned with the “embargo” system. It’s a fundamental flaw In the business model.

While I understand everything you said, I highly doubt this will hurt Bambu Lab or other creators. It's just a grain in the sands of time.
