Susumu Ohno, a Japanese-American scientist, bridged a gap between GENETIC CODE and MUSICAL NOTES. Using the structure of the PENTATONIC SCALE (do, re mi...), he transposed sequences of GENES into 'musical composition by assigning MUSICAL NOTES to the different NUCLEOTIDES in a DNA sequence - Nucleotides are represented by the letters A (adenine) T (thymine) C (cytocine) G (guanine). This conversion resulted in a MUSICAL PIECE that 'directly reflected' the structure of the ORGANISM from which the DNA came. This method could POTENTIALLY highlight any 'anomalies' in the genetic code as it would 'disrupt'... the MUSICAL HARMONY. If DNA can be translated into MUSIC, can MUSIC affect our DNA?...
