The ever-evolving master🧵of everything Vivienne Medrano, AKA Vivziepop, has done that doesn't involve fictional characters, personal kinks, or stuff from 10 years ago:
She brought Spindlehorse on to animate episode 8 of Hazbin at an extremely low rate with the understanding that it would be very limited animation. It was not, and the person who leaked this reported being given shots on 1s, the most complex in animation.
And yes, this is confirmed. It was also confirmed that Spindlehorse pays certain favored employees a wage of about $1,000 a week "to keep them from wandering", while others receive the much lower rate. https://passionfru.it/hazbin-h...
Some indie productions offer lower rates because they're pouring every last penny they have into the project, and do so until they can afford to pay a living wage. This isn't the case with Vivienne, who in late May treated herself to a taxidermy peacock shopping spree.
While some indie employees work around low pay rates by juggling multiple jobs, Vivienne has engaged in blacklisting, secretly asking fellow indie creators not to hire from her current staff.
Vivienne has also made some incredibly transphobic statements behind the scenes, usually about trans men, referring to them as delusional. She's also intentionally misgendered trans people who've lost her personal approval. Here's a document about that. https://docs.google.com/docume...
Here's testimony from pilot writer and artist Ken, AKA the driving force behind a very sizable chunk of the pilot's story, characterization, energy, and charm. https://www.docdroid.net/zyvFy...
Here's testimony from Erin Frost, a former employee who was harassed so viciously for speaking out that she eventually quit social media altogether.
Vivienne has referred to Kyra Kupetsky, the creator of Chikn Nuggit, as a "batshit cunt" and claimed that "I could destroy her."
Here's testimony from Salem, who had to fight tooth and nail to receive credit for their work on the show.
Viv gave her pilot cast the impression that she would do everything in her power to keep them, all the while intending to replace them with Broadway actors and slandering them behind their backs. She allowed the fandom to blame A24, unions, and the actors themselves for this.
The pilot cast was not invited to the series premiere and Ed Bosco did not appear in "Thank You and Goodnight," the pilot cast's goodbye to the fanbase, as it would have "threatened his job." Make of this what you will.
On numerous occasions, Viv has failed to credit staff for their work. Salem was one such example, but it's always been a recurring issue. While her response to Cole Jordan was deleted, Jordan's reply suggests she responded badly to being called out on this.
Viv liking a tweet referring to her critics as subhumans.
Viv being aphobic.
Viv subtly, and not so subtly, encouraging fandom hostility. The one on the left is particularly egregious because this was in response to a redesign artist being sent death and rape threats, solely for redesigning characters.
The fandom bullying situation became so severe that it eventually cost a fan their life. Viv has been made aware of this, but as of this writing, has yet to make a statement. https://x.com/mementoshay/stat...
Viv point blank lying about the SA survivor status of Raph, the storyboarder for Poison who infamously made inappropriate comments towards a 15 year old.
Viv lying about Raph's involvement, period. In fact, Poison lifted scenes directly from Raph's Angel/Valentino rape fetish comics, even quoting them directly. What Viv and Raph view on their own time isn't the topic of discussion here, but rather the consistent and outright lies.
In December of 2023, Viv went on vacation in Japan and hit up multiple destinations notorious for mistreating the wild animals on display. Not one of these places in ignorance, not two of them, but four of them, with a dolphin feeding and a "micropig" cafe to finish.
Here's Viv when a former friend of hers was hospitalized after attempting.
Viv claiming, falsely, that she "Would never allow abuse to be seen as positive in my stories." This was just before episode 4 of Hazbin aired, during a three day tirade against critics of the leaked scene. Two episodes later, a sexual assault scene is played entirely for laughs.
Viv threatening to sue Kedikatzen, a webcomic artist she incorrectly believed to be behind the transphobia document. As of this date, it's been her only response to the document.
Here's Faustisse - former editor and visual developer on Hazbin Hotel, comic lead for the prequel comics, and Viv's former friend - on their experience and being underpaid.
The official pitch sheets Viv presented to studios were loaded with stolen fanart.
More shady treatment of the pilot cast. As this person says, "People gotta know."
More proof of Spindlehorse staff being underpaid.
There's been talk going around that Vivienne apologized for all of these things. In fact, the last time she apologized (sort of) for anything was in a pair of 2018/2019 blog posts in which she discussed drawing fanart for Blaire White, and some assorted Zoophobia controversy.
Since then, her house policy has been to double down hard. Here's Vivienne from this year, saying that if people were still uncomfortable with episode four after it aired, she would respect that...and then, days later, agreeing that said uncomfortable people owed her an apology.
Vivienne comparing her critics to people who post cat snuff, telling them to fuck off, and then getting caught lying about having done so.
More proof of Viv lying about Raph, and how she'd never tolerate positive depictions of abuse in her works.
