Taking a look at the Megan Basham book, which says I graduated from a PCA seminary (I didn’t, and there’s only one). As a specialist, I judge “generalist” books by how they treat what I know something about. If they don’t get that right, I doubt the reliability of the rest.

@wesleyhill And we know that Nate went to Moody and then Southern. Last I checked, neither is PCA. These are basic, easily checked facts. @megbasham clearly didn’t do her homework.

@dale621 @megbasham That’s right re Nate.

@wesleyhill Wes, what is the citation in footnote 85?

@wesleyhill You are bearing false witness Wesley

@wesleyhill Stop confusing things with facts

@wesleyhill Ben Marsh pointed out some other errors - the kind of stuff a basic Google fact check could have fixed. It’s lazy. And her publisher should have caught it no matter what Megan did or failed to do.

@wesleyhill And Collins also didn’t go to Covenant Seminary. The more I hear about this book the more factual inaccuracies I discover

@wesleyhill I don’t know about the other stuff (a little overwhelmed by the current Twitter discourse). But this feels disappointing and like a basic thing that could be easily fact checked! Just cause you hang out w us it doesn’t make you a Presbyterian 🤪 Sorry Wesley =(

@wesleyhill So much for her "receipts."

@wesleyhill Everyone should read the book for themselves. The thoroughly sourced evidence follows the money and exposes how Church leaders were either duped by leftist political institutions or complicit.

@wesleyhill lol. Thanks for verifying that you’re a progressive 🧾

@wesleyhill All I know her to be is brash and argumentative with folks on here. I’ve never seen any ounce of grace in anything she disagrees with. This is the problem with teaching polarization over valuing people above politics.

@wesleyhill The Big Eva rats are scurrying to discredit Basham with every red herring they can find.

@wesleyhill Did she...did she write this book with chatGPT?

@wesleyhill If Meg Bash 'em says it's raining outside, you better check for yourself.

@wesleyhill rage grifters sell rage, not facts

@wesleyhill And Nate Collins went to Southern Seminary, which is not PCA but Southern Baptist.

@wesleyhill I thought she had ‘receipts.’ Did you check the receipts? Perhaps you are mistaken.

@wesleyhill I admittedly think it's kind of funny that so many people commenting on this thread are so invested in her book (or being anti-"progressive") that they insist you don't even know where you went to school. :)

@wesleyhill Nice use of a manipulation technique. Point out a minor error and use it to discredit the whole work. Thus allowing you to avoid interacting with arguments that are based in truth and that you might lose.

@wesleyhill Her work’s so consistently sloppy and her assertions so spurious and clearly biased that the whole book has been rendered a waste of time and money in my mind. Not planning to read even a used copy.

@wesleyhill Yes, this should probably be retracted. It doesn't in any material alter the conclusion though...

@wesleyhill Can you post the previous page by chance? Would love to also read the lead-in…

@wesleyhill That sentence structure sucks so bad

@wesleyhill She wrote the book for attention and to share her awful opinions. Accuracy wasn't a consideration-it never is with Megan.

@wesleyhill this presenting issue for megan and others who will like her book: facts don't matter what matters is weaponized propaganda against clearly identified enemies who the propaganda confirms are the bad guys & we are the good guys. the conditioning, grooming, brainwashing is real.

@wesleyhill Does she take a run at Cru as well?

@wesleyhill I haven’t found her to be very accurate in many things.

@wesleyhill Faithful and biblical words from Becket Cook in the last couple paragraphs on this page!

@wesleyhill Wait--I thought she was a journalist?? 🙄

@wesleyhill Details don't matter to @megbasham. It just has to fit her agenda to be OK.
