Benjamin K. Tennyson is a 15-year-old from the small town of Bellwood, New Mexico. The city is known for being the U.S. city with the largest number of cryptid and UFO sightings in history.

U'd be hard-pressed to find a single person without a story to tell about a monster creeping around in their crops or an alien landing on their barn. At the town square, you could even read documents tying the town’s foundation to aliens and mythical creatures.

Despite looking for it, Ben had never witnessed a single thing. It was one of his life’s passions, even if he wouldn’t admit it! He was even part of the Bellwood Cryptid Club, which he claimed was “just an extra-curricular,” but he wasn’t fooling anyone.

Truth is, Ben wanted to be cool! Puberty FINALLY hit a point where his voice stopped cracking, he wasn’t the smallest one in the class anymore. He even landed a spot on the school’s team, the “Bellwood Aliens,” as a cornerback!

he title of “Deputy Cryptozoologist” for the Cryptid Club wouldn’t help his social life much, and he certainly wouldn’t be a recruiter (he doesn’t have the social skills 💀 )

One night, for an assignment for his biology class, Ben and his cousin Gwen (his lab partner) were driven down to a forest north of the city by their Grandpa Max to research for their project.

Grandpa was such a goofball, always telling them stories of aliens and monsters he had seen back in his day. He had such a way with his words; even though it was silly, he would always tell his stories like they really happened.

The guy couldn’t see a log and a fireplace without starting to blabber out his stories, and you KNOW he told at least a couple of them to Ben and Gwen on their way to the forest… Stories about that Forrest in specific.

Ben, of course, not being able to keep his curiosity down and being stand Gwen anymore, decided to pull out his lantern and camera and go out into the woods... “Who knows, maybe I’ll see an alien,” he thought to himself. Well… I believe we all know how this turns out!
