Battle Disk: Primordial Echoes 🦖🥚

Going back to one of the earliest v-pet sprites I did, think on how much humanoid monster design hinges on occlusion esp. eyes or mouth. Absent other monstrous features its a well I notice Digimon and Yu-Gi-Oh character designs going back to often.

For small sprites like these, its also helpful since mouth or eye details are challenging to indicate on smaller or distant subjects... but as much as I could id like to avoid chibi-fying or eliminating design features for the sake of a single illustration.

Finger groupings are similar: five fingers, visible eyes when uncovered, visible mouth when uncovered, these things to me would ideally be sacrosanct for human-monsters outside really extreme angles. (Let the cavegirl here by the exception that makes the rule :'D)

Naming stuff: Digimon and MMBN loom large, they're almost so iconic to me its hard to carve out your own interesting naming niche. Leaning right now to calling the monsters "Daemons", from the computing term... generic but versatile and punchy and not "IP"
