Yap about your OCs all you want, spoil their unique back stories, tell everyone how cool they are. And then if you get a TV show, just use them anyway. It's not illegal. Nobody will remember your OCs and those who do will just be happy
Never hold back on telling a story because you might do it later. Just do it now and then do it again later if you want. That's allowed
I've been coming up with variations of the same characters and stories since I was young and so have all of the successful people I know. You will grow and change and add lots of new ideas but forming a foundation of storytelling is important. Don't wait for later to do that!
