dadson goyuu who despises megumi for being his son’s fiancé. every turn or opportunity, gojo loves making megumi feel like a fucking idiot for not knowing something far from basic. yuuji’s car has a flat n megumi doesn’t know how to fix it? gojo’s there muttering about how
yuuji is soooo lucky to have him as a dad. yuuji wants something? gojo already bought it with a snide remark about what is megumi good for if he doesn’t spoil yuuji. everytime satoru visits his precious son, he showers him in gifts and compliments. trying to make yuuji move back
home by guilting him over how lonely he is since yuuji moved out. when megumi tries to bring up satoru is visiting too much, he immediately plays victim. whining to yuuji for comfort over how cruel his son-in-law is. yuuji is none the wiser, trusting his father is just
trying to cope with having an empty nest. “Megs… be nice. Dad’s just not used to me being far away.” “He bought a new apartment just to be near ours—“ “He still has the old house!” Yuuji argues.
“That’s not the point, Yuuj. He /literally/ has no reason to act like this towards you.” Megumi tries to reason with Yuuji. “I’m his only son.” He reminds, using his ‘get out of jail free’ card. This time megumi doesn’t take it, “I don’t think it’s normal! You’re 25 sitting
in your dads lap? Calling him for every little while? C’mon Yuuji. I’m right here.” “Sitting on his lap isn’t inherently wrong. Stop making it weird! It’s not my fault you and your dad—“ Yuuji stops himself, placing his fingertips over his lips.
He’s embarrassed he let his emotions get the better than him. He doesn’t want to let go of his father, but he needs to also get along with his fiancé. “I’ll have a talk with him.” Yuuji doesn’t argue more. Megumi’s expression still hasn’t changed from when he brought up Toji.
They both just stare at each other across their bedroom— in the house Gojo paid for. “Yeah, sure.” Megumi turns off the lamp on his bedside table, crawling into bed. Yuuji does the same. His back turned to his lover, mulling over what he said.
maybe gojo was way to close to yuuji and comfortable with walking all over their relationship. he just didn’t know how to say… no. no was just a word that didn’t exist in yuuji and gojo’s relationship.
The following morning was less than pleasant. Megumi woke up for work, making every possible action as loud as possible. Rummaging for his clothes with exasperated sighs, leaving the door open in the bathroom while he got ready, slamming the cabinets and drawers shut. Yuuji
knows he should do something, anything about it. Instead, he's bitter and angry with his fiancé. He doesn't understand why Gojo is such a sore subject for him. Why he's so intimidating by /his/ father of all people. He doesn't make an effort to show he's awake until Megumi
slams their bedroom door shut hard enough to rattle the walls. He decided to apologize- rather try to- so his lover doesn't go to work in such a bad mood. "Megs..." Yuuji's voice calls out to the fully dressed form hunched over the kitchen counter by the coffee machine. A gift
none other than Gojo when Yuuji moved out. He can't quite make up what Megumi is muttering to himself. "Baby..." It's sappy, so not like Yuuji. They weren't the super lovey-dovey couple. Yuuji never opted to call Megumi petnames, he just wasn't that /person/.
"What?" Megumi softens a little to name, shoulders relaxing at the sudden change in Yuuji's tone. He's desperate to fix this. He doesn't want to distance himself from his dad or lose face with his soon-to-be-husband. "I didn't mean what I said last night." Yuuji takes
a sharp inhale through his nose, careful with his words. "About your father. I shouldn't have gone that far." Megumi finally turns to face him, giving him a look as if there was more to be said. Yuuji felt like his tongue was tied, struggling to form the thought. He stuttered.
Megumi's face fell at his failure to say what he should. "I'll-" Yuuji doesn't want to say. "Don't bother." Megum cuts him off. Yuuji frowns, bottom lip jutting out in a awfully cute display that both his father and his lover adored. It's clear it broke Megumi's angry facade
just a little. "I swear! I'll talk to him. I'll tell him that we need to put some distance... between us physically. It's just hard to say no to him. He's my /dad/" Yuuji reasons with him quickly. Megumi lets up a little. Yuuji takes it as a sign to creep up to him, wrapping
his arms around his middle. He didn't want to spend the whole day angry over his father- especially when he's such a good man. He funded Yuuji's life, his every whime or desire. How was he even suppose to say 'no'? "I'm sorry." The voice cuts through his thoughts in a hushed
whisper. "I won't act like that again." Megumi sounds sincere and gushy. It makes Yuuji chuckle. They've never fought before. They agreed- rather Yuuji just sided- with each other on everything. Yuuji didn't have strong opinions on the things Megumi did. He was more concerned
with his father. Yuuji was interested in everything that had to do with his company, beliefs, and desires. Megumi sort of was just easy to follow as long as he didn't oppose it. So, Yuuji did go a little on the offensive when Megumi judged his father. Much to his embarrassment.
"Me too. Just... don't make my dad seem like a bad guy. He's only got me... I know you know that. He just- He's done a lot for us. He's even given you a spot in /his/ company after we get married. You know, people fight tooth and nail to work for him" Megumi grumbles, massaging
Yuuji's back dimples. Fingers prodding at the dips of skin while mulling over his words. "I'll be nicer to him. Just... try and lower the skinship. People'll get the wrong idea. Sometimes... I think they do.." Yuuji bites his tongue at a rude remark. "Stop it! I get it.
Just go to work before you get in trouble." His tone light, playful. His face concealed into the rough fabric of Megumi's dress shirt. "Alright. Don't miss me too hard." He feels the atmosphere around them lift up, but the nausea in his stomach persists.
Gojo wasn't going to take well to being told 'no' or having any boundaries put in place. Yuuji just knew it. He /knew/ his father like the back of his hand. "I wont." Yuuji banters back but he means it just a little. He's bitter about this, but his father rasied him to be kind
and elegant with his emotions. He can cry about it later, in the comfort of his gojo's arms. He lets go quickly filling up a travel mug with black coffee, almost reaching for the sugar until remembering Megumi doesn't like it that way. "Love you." He hands of the mug with a
chaste kiss on the cheek. He waits until Megumi walks out the front door and scrambles to grab his phone. He wants to rant and badmouth Megumi to someone. Nobara might be on his side, she always complains about Gojo anyway. The only time she doesn't is when their having lunch on
his dime. It doesn't help she's dating Megumi's relative. It's not exactly guilt-free ranting when Maki and Megumi share the same bold emerald eye colour. Yuuta was nice, but too nice. He'd definitely try to find a solution so Yuuji wouldn't be so down about it. The only person
left to talk to was the very person this was about. His thumb hovering over the contact before pressing it. He said he was going to talk to him anyway- just never said about what. The line barely rings once before it goes through. "Daddy we need to talk."
Gojo takes a breath, barely audible through the speaker. Yuuji knows he can tell he's upset. "What's wrong sweetheart? Do I need to go over there?" Gojo asks, grabbing his keys. Yuuji can hear the distant rustling of clothes and jingling of metal. "No, no. You have work."
"work isn't as important as you, Yuuji. I can take a few hours off. Don't tell me you forgot who your dad is?" He tries to bring the mood up with little jokes. "Megumi says I shouldn't be as physical with you." Yuuji says childishly- as if he's snitching on a kid to his teacher.
"He says people will get the wrong idea." Yuuji adds and Gojo doesn't say anything back. The line is eerily silent aside from the blood thumping in Yuuji's ears. He feels like he's in trouble. Like he said too much. "What did you tell him after he said that?" Yuuji can't hear
the shuffle of his footsteps anymore. He bites the inside of his cheek while thinking of what to say. "I told him... I said I'd have a talk with you, but he accused us of doing something wrong! I feel so disgusted, so angry about it. Is it wrong to be so close to you?"
Gojo takes a beat before speaking, his tone oddly pleased- maybe bored? Yuuji couldn't tell sometimes. His father's erratic personality was hard to clock if he couldn't see his face. "No, sweetheart. Nothing's wrong with it. Let me come over? I'll bring your favourite dessert."
Yuuji glances down at his engagement ring, a white gold band with his name and their anniversary embedded on the inside. He thinks of Megumi, for a second. Maybe less. The only person he wanted to comfort him was his father. The only one who even tries to understand Yuuji is
Gojo. Megumi just has explosive bits of angry followed by a silent period. He's stubborn and keeps his emotions hidden while Yuuji /tries/ to be somewhat open. "Please. I'm sorry for making you call off work. I just don't know what to do daddy. I love him, but he keeps
doing things like this..." Gojo is probably already in his car just waiting for Yuuji's permission to go over. Yuuji can hear the soft roar of the engine follow through Gojo's words. "We'll talk when I get there, okay? Just don't worry your pretty little head. I worked hard to
maintain it, you know!" Yuuji giggles. "Well, it doesn't work that well if I still need to run to you for everything." "Ouch! So cruel, my dear Yuuji. I love you, be there soon." Yuuji says his goodbyes and prepares two cups of coffee for him and his father to enjoy.
Yuuji makes Gojo's coffee just the way he adores it- too much sugar and cream. It's almost white with a beige undertone. Yuuji's coffee is no better but he's a little less heavy handed with the sugar. He is his father's son after all, with a sweet tooth of his own.
He can't help but realize the differences between Megumi and himself. Even their taste in coffee couldn't be anymore different. He got along well with his partner, yes, of course he did. When Megumi got down on one knee, Yuuji was ecstatic. He was so excited that he almost
forgot they were at an upscale restaurant with their closest friends and family. Yuuji was there teary eyed and in love. Their engagement photos are still hung up in the living. Yuuji smiling showing off his humble ring with Megumi /smiling/ for once. A smile Yuuji loves to
bribe out of him with silly antics. Though, sometimes Megumi just finds him annoying which is equally as frustrating. Megumi is brass with Yuuji, not gentle like Gojo. Gojo sugarcoats everything when it comes to Yuuji. He gives him criticisms and judges him accordingly.
Though, he's kind in his wording. Every critique sandwiched between soft praises and words of affirmation. Yuuji has never felt dumb while Gojo lecutres him. When Megumi does, he feels like he is far from the brightest. He's quick, but not loud. His monotone, raspy voice
eats at his ego a when Megumi choses to dissect everything he does as wrong or inefficient. The thoughts swirl nauseatingly in Yuuji's head. Was he really sitting here comparing romantic partners to his father? Maybe he was losing it. Maybe he's stressed. Wedding
planning, newly engaged, and freshly moved. It's all weighing on Yuuji's psyche and he's not entirely used to Gojo not being there to make it better 24/7. The front door opens while Yuuji is stuck in his own head, seated on the couch with two coffee mugs in front of him.
Gojo looks frazzled, bringing a smile to his lips. God, his father was so unserious sometimes it was /hard/ to feel any negative emotion for long. "Did you forget to get dressed this morning?" Yuuji asks, admiring his father's current out fit.
It's not like him to not look some level of ready to go, but this time he was wearing sweats and some baggy longsleeve. It made Yuuji wonder if he planned on going to work at all. "You called... so I may have forgot to finish getting ready." Gojo chuckles, hanging his keys on
hooks by the door. He slips off his tennis shoes at the entryway with a plastic bag in hand- two to be exact. "Dad... you so planned on playing hooky today!" Yuuji clocks Gojo. He gives a fake guilty pout, peering at Yuuji through his sunglasses.
"I saw Yuuji had the day off too, can't I want to spend time with my son?" Yuuji rolls his eyes, bringing his knees to his chest. He notices his father's eyes following the trail of exposed skin all the way to the hip. He has to be seeing things. Gojo wouldn't ever look at him
that way. He's just tired. It's still far to early in the morning. "Wanna tell your dad what's going on in that little head of yours?" Gojo closes the distance between them and sets the bag of pastries on the coffee table. "Not really... it's so embarrassing." Yuuji confesses.
"Nothing about you is embarrassing, sweetheart. Just tell me, hm?" Gojo reaches to take a sip from the mug in front of him. Yuuji watches the way he smiles at it, taking a slow sip to appreciate his barely coffee, coffee. "Megumi and I fought last night. Over you! You of all
people! He says that we get along more like lovers than father and son. He judged me for sitting on your lap... I told him it's because he didn't have a dad so he doesn't understand us." he rests his head on his knee, thighs pressed adjacent his chest while he hugs onto his legs.
"Well, I didn't fully say the last part. God, daddy this is all so hard. I think... he's jealous of you...?" Yuuji adds on to his rant. Gojo sets his mug down, easily pulling Yuuji onto his lap. Yuuji lets out a small whine, sounding flustered by the sudden action.
Yuuji always forgets just how /strong/ and how much /larger/ Gojo is compared to him. He's always had his father guide or manhandle him to get him to do what he wants. Yuuji adjusts himself to be properly seated on his father's muscled thighs. He feels so small, so safe.
"he is just jealous... don't listen to him sweetheart. You're still my baby. As long as I'm bigger than you, you can keep sitting on my lap." Gojo's hand rests on the side of Yuuji's hip. A hold that feels stranger. Possessive almost. Yuuji swallows thickly, feeling oddly shy at
words. What was getting into him? Was his dad always this fucking nervewracking? This sweet? "You're always bigger than me, dad." He reminds, "So, i guess I'll always be on your lap, hm?" Yuuji can't believe himself. he sounds flirty, not like he's joking.
"I guess so. Such a cruel fate for your poor dad. I have to have my cute son all perched up on my lap," Gojo nuzzles his nose into the crook of Yuuji's neck. "Sitting pretty for me." Yuuji's stomach does a flip. It's all so new... so wrong... but Yuuji is loving how attentive
Gojo is. "M'too old to be called pretty." Yuuji doesn't break away from the suddenness of it all. Gojo takes it as a sign to push even more into Yuuji's space. His chest pressed against his back, speaking low against his goosebumped skin. "Don't say that, baby. you're the
prettiest thing I've /ever/ laid my eyes on." A small kiss pressed just on the side of his neck. It's silent for a beat. Then another kiss pressed higher up, followed by one more just on his chin. Yuuji's heart is hammering in his chest. He swears Gojo can hear it with how quiet
the living room is. He doesn't try to peel away but doesn't encourage it. "dad?" Yuuji musters the courage to ask, no matter how heavy the words feel on his tongue. "Mhm?" Gojo responds, unbothered. "I'm- I'm engaged." He stutters, almost like he's trying to remind himself too
