The Magic of Pocket Pivots Pocket pivots are a method to spot institutional activity within a base or an uptrend. By definition, a Pocket Pivot occurs when the current up day's volume exceeds the Highest down volume day in the previous 10 days.

So, how do they benefit us? Pocket Pivot Volumes (PPV) are the best indicator of institutional accumulation. Multiple PPVs in a consolidation base, & in a breakout candle are very bullish signals.

Big institutions often take weeks to months to accumulate large positions, making it difficult to hide their activity. Although a Pocket Pivot is a bullish signal, it doesn't necessarily mean it's time to buy the stock. Rather, it indicates that the stock might be poised to move
