“You’re telling me he’s /pawning/ it?” Simon yelled, fury boiling to the surface. “Yes.” “What’s he doing with the money?” Simon snarled. “Is it drugs?” “That’s explained in detail on the next page.” Gary instructed, leaning forward to pull the page back, revealing pictures
of one John MacTavish walking out of a supermarket with bags in hand and carrying them to an unfamiliar block of low income flats. “From what I gathered, he actually lives here.” Roach explained. “There are four other people living in the flat, two elderly persons and two kids.
Records seem to indicate they’re his family. More aptly, his much younger brother and sister and his grandparents. He seems to be shopping for the kids. Food and school things mostly. Some clothes here and there for them. Doesn’t seem to keep anything for himself.”
Simon seemed to settle with the new information, a contemplative look in his eyes as he leaned back in his chair. “And the items he pawned?” “I got back everything at the shop if that’s what you’re worried about. It was easy when they learned who was interested and how
unhappy you’d be at how lowly they were valuing your gifts. John’s been getting swindled every time he’s gone in there.” Simon frowned at that, “How quickly can I own them?” He growled. Gary smiled sharply, “They were leasing the space from one of your subsidiaries.”
“And how soon can they be evicted?” “There’ve been minor contract violations for months according to the manager. I could have them out in three days.” “Perfect. I have new plans for our date Thursday evening.”
