Yamnaya is the most overrated archaeological culture of all time. When you talk about ie accomplishments almost everything is really attributed to corded ware. Indics, iranics, scythians, slavs, germanics, celts, italics, Corded ware even replaced yamnaya on the steppe
Yamnaya barely had contact with those longhouse farmers people talk about. They conquered the already indo European balkans and then let themselves be acculturated by the native baden culture
Yamnaya descended catacomb and babino cultures were replaced on the steppe by the CWC fatyanovo descended srubnaya culture. The only yamnaya descended languages today are Greek, Albanian and Armenian The rest is all thanks to corded ware
Corded ware are a eugenic combination of the most innovative outcast steppe pioneers and the most warlike and mobile of the farmers (who were blonde and blue eyed btw.), and this lead them to conquer eurasia and outcompete their yamnaya brothers
Infact these farmers of the globular amphora culture were so warlike that they conquered yamnaya territory and migrated into their steppe lands in moldavia
@VVeltkrieger This is anti-Albanian discrimination
@Albanianismvs Cetina (proto illyrians) are post-yamnayans + bell beaker influences fir the most part
@VVeltkrieger The people that cling on Yamnaya do so because of political reasons, and we know exactly why. Undermind the accomplishments of the men that came out of NE Europe
@SirHarjaz Eh it's mostly just being uninformed tbh
@VVeltkrieger "Yamnaya" as a name just flows better. It sounds more like a real name for a culture.
@GJ_Girard_Jones Western Archaeologists suck at naming, Russians have pretty cool names
@VVeltkrieger Yamnaya descendants started the innovations in its very early phase
@VVeltkrieger Couldn’t care less still love em Plus early Yamnaya was PIE (deniers will be bogged)
@VVeltkrieger Another point on this note; a lot of Yamnaya innovations are downstream from Neolithic folk, as a culture, they are nothing particularly inventive. In post-PIE cultures, most of it is, as you wrote, from the Corded Ware. But even in PIE Yamnaya, their innovations were limited.
