🧵 On 5 November I delivered the following letter to the defence minister regarding the cavalier attitude of the armed forces to cybersecurity. I have blanked out the sensitive imagery. My personal thanks to Rajnath Ji & Modi Ji for acting so swiftly within 48 hours 1/3

@Iyervval That’s fantastic. Thanks on behalf of all of us who were concerned about such MoUs and poor cyber security. So good to see PM, RM take it up so fast.

@Iyervval And then there were those who were defending the MOU, guilt shaming anyone who dared question this move.

@Iyervval Great expose’! Technology is a two way street- the more we have the more is the vulnerability! About ten years ago I was asked by a remarkable head of institution : ‘how will technology impact us’ - my response: ‘you can’t lie and you can’t hide anymore- someone will find you’!

@Iyervval @ajeetbharti Thank you for highlighting this Abhijit. It was indeed the need of the hour 🙌🙏🏼

@Iyervval Well done 👍

@Iyervval I’m glad you did.

@Iyervval These are some scariest ‘exposes’,surprising how our most sensitive installations of National Security including the Ministry itself have been exposed and become vulnerable!! Kudos to you @Iyervval for bringing this very important and serious breach to the notice of the

@Iyervval Thanks for taking this issue forward . We need to strengthen our cyber capabilities and ensure that movements of our armed forces/military vehicles, are not tracked. We hope ministry take cognisance of this serious concern and act upon it immediately.

@Iyervval I hope “proper Kings English” was used ! P.s thanks for the hard work

@Iyervval In many European countries&US responsible citizens point out the loopholes in Government system (be it Security concerned or any other issue of concern).But in India normally we do destructive criticism. Kudos to @Iyervval who among a few are exception and always alert the Govt.

@Iyervval Sir, Indian needs to do a lot on Cyber security front in all government institutions : strategic ones included. We use foreign made mobiles (technology), foreign Email services & virtually foreign interference in all technology related stuff. Unless we have a Google or Microsoft

@Iyervval We had idiots defending those MOUs because it would give uber rides at cheaper rates for armed forces guys.

@Iyervval Something @TinyDhillon sir could not do it with his politeness was done with ruthless @Iyervval Adbhut.

@Iyervval Good morning #AIM-kudos & congratulations for this excellent work, in #India’s interest. It would be nice for us citizens, to also hear about the swift action taken by @rajnathsingh ji & @narendramodi ji We would like to be prepared to counter vultures in waiting 🙏 in advance

@Iyervval Abhijeet bhai, thank you for raising awareness to this issue! cc: @SpfAdmin

@Iyervval When does the podcast start? It’s over an hour late already

@Iyervval All these lapses cant happen without the connivance of Govt officials.There is too much Corruption even after Modi ji's vigilance.Masjids mazaars r made at strategic locations.neighbourhood at railway tracks and even railway platforms are occupied with mazaars & illegal migrants

@Iyervval A vigilant, vocal citizen and a responsible, responsive government is a sign of vibrant democracy. 👏🫡

@Iyervval Many of our establishments still use CamScanner app downloaded 4 years ago for official pdf documents despite more than 4 years of ban. We don't understand cyber security.

@Iyervval Kudos @Iyervval ! For strength of commitment, great subject matter expertise, and most of all sticking to your guns on the back of the above against extremely unfair criticism. More power to you.

@Iyervval Well ! That's scathing and straight on the face. Now, we will wait for corrective actions that go beyond what has been recommended. It's never late, though the damage that has been done is Done. Period.

@Iyervval Don't we have any section/department in defence ministry or in forces to get clearance for such MoUs?

@Iyervval Abhijit, thank you so much for doing this. You're an incredible force of nature! I'm blown away be the effort you put into this. Hats off to you Another thanks for not making this email drip with colonialist hon'bes and other fluff. Your letter was very refreshing

@Iyervval Whats the purpose of this post? Aren't you inviting unwanted interest from those who didn't even know?

@Iyervval Glad that action is being taken by the govt. It is unfortunate that our ex service personnel ( from Generals to jawans) rush to support every action of the armed forces blindly even if it involves compromising national security.

@Iyervval Bhai podcast m ja

@Iyervval Many thanks due to you for this

@Iyervval Love AIM!!! May Bharatha maatha bless you.

@Iyervval Do it with a seva bhaav , if u want it to be implemented fully

@Iyervval What steps have been taken for which you thanked the PM and RM? Could you divulge if within limits?? Just for the sake of reassuring the common man - now that you have already brought the gists out in open!

@Iyervval They've turned themselves into a laughing stock of every country's security apparatus and civilians who follow general news. This is so incredibly, blitheringly stupid...

@Iyervval Point is govt babus need to be replaced with subject matter experts. Govt officers are not capable or serious enough to understand the gravity of problems. A country that could not save their own Hindu brethren in BD and PK speaks volumes about our weakness

@Iyervval Great Abhijit !!! We all who were concerned , are a bit relaxed. Thanks to you.
