two weeks ago. He's just... always there. No matter where I go, he's there. But I didn't think he'd actually... do something like this. I didn't know…" Hana's brow furrowed, concern knitting her features. "Taehyung, why didn't you tell us sooner?"
Taehyung bit his lip, his hands trembling in his father's. "I didn't know what to do," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "And I didn't want to make you and Mom worry because of me." Daehyun shook his head, his grip tightening in a gesture of both strength and reassurance.
"Taehyung, you're our son. If something's wrong, you come to us. Always." Taehyung nodded quickly, his eyes brimming with unshed tears, but before anyone could say more, the shrill ring of the landline broke through the tense silence.
Seokjin, after a brief moment of hesitation, leaned over and picked up the receiver. "Hello?" Seokjin said cautiously. His expression shifted almost immediately, his face draining of color. Daehyun noticed the change. "Who is it?" he asked sharply.
Seokjin glanced at Taehyung, his voice shaky. “It's… it's Jungkook." Taehyung's breath hitched, his hands instinctively clutching Hana's arm. "Mom…" he whispered, his voice breaking. Daehyun's face darkened, his frustration bubbling to the surface. "What does he want now?"
Seokjin hesitated, swallowing hard before answering. "He says he wants to talk to you." Daehyun didn't hesitate for a second. "Put it on speaker," he ordered, his voice sharp. Seokjin complied after a brief moment, pressing the speaker button and setting the phone on the table.
"What do you want now?" Daehyun demanded, his tone dripping with frustration. "Are you not satisfied after the chaos you caused yesterday?" A low chuckle came through the line, followed by Jungkook's smooth, taunting voice. "I'll be satisfied when Taehyung comes to me as my omega.
But don't worry—" Daehyun cut him off angrily, his voice rising. "Why did you call?!" His fists clenched at his sides. One long pause followed, and for a moment, it seemed like Jungkook had hung up. But then his voice returned, quieter and sharper.
"Aren't you brave, father-in-law?" Jungkook taunted, his voice dripping with venom. "Cutting me off like that. And you went running to my father, hoping he'd put a stop to this? If you thought he would, you're more delusional than I thought."
Daehyun's fists clenched, his knuckles white with anger. "And let me make something clear," Jungkook continued. "In two days, my family will be at your house to formally ask for Taehyung's hand. Get your family ready.
And tell Taehyung…" His voice dropped to a whisper, sending chills through the room. "I can't wait to make him mine." Daehyun's fury boiled over. "You little—!" he roared, but the line went dead before he could say more.
