"Taehyung isn't some prize to be won. He's not something for your grandson to take. He has his own life, his own future, and it won't be decided by you or anyone else." The elder Jeon's face tightened, his eyes narrowing. He wasn't happy with Daehyun's words.
The air felt tense as they stared each other down. The room was quiet for a moment, until Somi finally spoke. Her voice was calm, a bit of warmth in it as she leaned forward slightly. She had been quietly observing everything until now, but now,
she addressed Daehyun with a kind, understanding look. "Mr. Kim," she started, her tone a little softer, "I can see how much you care about your son, and I get where you're coming from. But please, hear me out once." She gave him a gentle smile, her expression serious but kind.
"I know this is a tough situation for everyone. We're not trying to force anything on you or your son. We just want to find a way to make things work... if that's possible." Her gaze flickered briefly to Taehyung, offering him a quiet, reassuring smile,
before returning her attention to Daehyun. "I know my son may have acted disrespectfully, but he is a good man. I understand if you find it hard to believe my words, especially after everything that's happened, but if you give him a chance, I believe he will rise to the occasion
and prove himself as a suitable alpha for your Taehyung." As Somi finished speaking, Hana stepped into the room, carrying a tray with tea and snacks. she carefully set the tray down on the table and started handing out cups.
"Mrs. Jeon," Hana said, giving her a smile, "Your son might be a good person, but forcing our son into marriage with him isn't going to happen." She passed the cups around. "We appreciate the offer, but it's just not something we can agree to."
Somi nodded politely, accepting the tea, but Hana kept going. "Also, Taehyung is already promised to someone. His marriage is already arranged, and we can't break that trust. Not for anyone." The elder Jeon's eyes narrowed, and he didn't miss a beat before responding.
"You need to see who is truly better for your son, Mrs. Kim. My grandson is a far better alpha than any of the others in your community. Your son won't find anyone like him, even if he searched the world over." He paused for a moment, looking around at everyone.
A smug smile creeping onto his face. "Your son is fortunate that my grandson wants him. He should feel honored." Taehyung's blood boiled on those arrogant words, and his chest tightened with anger. He couldn't hold back anymore. Narrowing his eyes at the elder, he spoke up,
His voice dripping with sarcasm, "Your grandson isn't the great alpha you think he is. He's threatened to hurt anyone who gets close to me—everyone. And I'm sure that includes his own family too. So, yeah, really impressive alpha, huh?"
