@DanWhitcomb most beanies are a plain ribbed cotton, wool, or acrylic knit (pic 1). the stoffa beanie is a wool-silk-mohair blend made with a boucle texture (pic 2). the norlha beanie has dropped stitches for a distressed effect
@UbuEsq the classic british trenchcoat is made from gabardine, which is a type of tightly woven twill. japanese typewriter cotton is a crisp plain weave made from a combination of high- and low-twist yarns, which makes it water repellant but also a little more breathable than twills
@beefeatergimlet Personally don't recommend buying "affordable" cashmere, as it's a false luxury and doesn't last very long. Would spring for a harder wearing fiber, such as Shetland or lambswool.
@lost_lost_olost doesn't seem strange to me bc sometimes you bring a sweater along in case you get cold. i've seen it a few times in the city and think it looks nice on people.
