≈ “We are now confident that we can spin bullshit at unprecedented levels, and get away with it, so we now aspire to aim beyond that, to hype in purest sense of that word. We love our products, but we are here for the glorious next rounds of funding. With infinite funding, we

Why I am fairly confident that Sam is bluffing? I have posted a more serious reply to his claims here: https://x.com/GaryMarcus/statu...

@GaryMarcus >Now confident >know how to >as we have traditionally understood it >We believe >May see >continue to believe Completely insufferable.

@GaryMarcus The scientific translation 🤣😂🤣

@GaryMarcus 21st Century Alchemy: The idea that with enough computer power, you can transmute base data (and synthetic drivel this time since we've run out of the real thing) into golden intelligence.

@GaryMarcus sounds like the ultimate startup fairy tale—where hype meets infinite funding in a never-ending sequel. wonder if the plot twist involves actually delivering on those promises. stay tuned for the next episode of 'Silicon Valley: The Reckoning.'

@GaryMarcus If there is one thing I envy Sam Altman apart from money and privileged position, it is the cheekiness of being able to say anything no matter how true it is.

@GaryMarcus Probably will self-define a new AGI test that they themselves will fulfill 😅

@GaryMarcus If OpenAI had AGI, they would have had an exit and all be multi-billionaires. They they aren't doing that means that they are scrambling to figure out how to continue to milk the funding train, and that requires them to push the horizon as far out as possible.

@GaryMarcus Next is super duper intelligence

@GaryMarcus This perfectly encapsulates the hype-driven nature of some sectors, where the pitch often outshines the product. 🚀 Infinite funding might fuel grand ambitions, but without substance, it’s just smoke and mirrors. True innovation thrives on solving real problems, not just spinning

@GaryMarcus pump up that valuation

@GaryMarcus Scammers gonna scam

@GaryMarcus Can they really rely on infinite funding? At some point they need to turn a profit.

@GaryMarcus Spin cycle activated, let's separate AI hype from actual progress

@GaryMarcus Let me guess, he needs more money right???

@GaryMarcus D U M P ON R E T A I L

@GaryMarcus True! :)

@GaryMarcus You’re the Peter Schiff of AI

@GaryMarcus I don't think he is bluffing. He maybe be wrong sure, but he is not bluffing

@GaryMarcus Always easy to be a critic. I use and find value daily in their products. Its a force multiplier for my ideation process. Agents are viable. Orchestrating them is the new enterprise rosetta stone. But maybe sit and characterize building something massive as "Bullshit."

@GaryMarcus Wrote my first 6 word story the other day, been waiting for just the right moment. singularity alignment workaround imminent investment hyperstition

@GaryMarcus I'm not sure that's an accurate quote... 😂

@GaryMarcus We know how to achieve AGI!!!! Ridiculous thing to say🤣

@GaryMarcus Erm what the sigma

@GaryMarcus Gary, I love that you always call out their BS.

@GaryMarcus Need a Yankee Candles-esque "Levels of Abstraction" for AI hype

@GaryMarcus Their models are great tools that can help the very best with research but they lack several aspects that make humans intelligent

@GaryMarcus If you are TOO cynical you lose credibility.

@GaryMarcus Why does he want to build superintelligence? Hasn’t he learned anything about Terminator or skynet?

@GaryMarcus Putting the “Con” in…(🥁?)…ahhh just forget it…why must it be so…

@GaryMarcus No, Sam Altman is not bluffing. He's just confessing his overconfidence disorder.

@GaryMarcus Altman is like some kind of Dragonball character, except too bad for him that we live in reality, I suppose.

@GaryMarcus Glad to see you back on Twitter.
