Linguistic Situation before the Tumulus Invasion. Relatively few Groups which derive, or could have derived, from Yamnaya linguistically. Instead Groups more seemingly related to Corded ware Dominate, and even the Eneolithic Cernavodans from Sredny Stog survived over Yamnayans
Somogyvar -> Litzenkeramik & Vatin could be Yamnaya too, although the only Somogyvar sample we have is half CWC with R1a. Could be an outlier though Belotic Bela Crka, a variant of Vatin, has Tumulus burials which could mean Vatin is more Yamnaya derived, possibly even Catacomb
@VVeltkrieger Is the coastline Yamnaya?
@Albanianismvs Yeah, Cetina culture, from Adriatic and Ljubljana variants of Vucedol
@VVeltkrieger Tumulus seemed like a big overthrow of existing cultures based on your maps. Is that correct? Any sense of why?
@ThirteenFathers Yes, Tumulus destroyed all of the previous Pannonian cultures West of the Tisza and caused all of the ones east of it to Collapse. Unclear exactly why they invaded, hard to tell which came first: Collapse of the Pannonian Tell Cultures or Tumulus Invasion
@VVeltkrieger Some of the Italic languages theories surmise that they came to Italy from the Balkans in the late 2nd mil BC (Italo-Faliscan group first) after splitting from the Celtic branch in Central Europe. Do you think that Encrusted Pottery could be a fitting candidate for Proto-Italics?
@epieuropoid Absolutely not. Read this: https://x.com/VVeltkrieger/sta...
@VVeltkrieger How can Cernavoda exist at the same time as CW ? They’re ~ 1000 years apart
@DrRob82 Monteoru, tei and verbicioara come from glina schneckenberg, which comes out of cernavoda
