Hmm, I’m not sure how you perceive my relationship with Mr. Itagaki, but I can tell you it’s likely different from what you imagine. Let me provide a general overview and some key topics regarding my history with Mr. Itagaki. However, consider this a warning. What follows is

@Harada_TEKKEN What an awesome read. Now I'm more curious about the omitted events 😁

@Harada_TEKKEN This is an eye opening deep deep dive into ancient fighting game history. The k you for sharing this, Harada.

@Harada_TEKKEN your strategy for T7 and having me take the arcade boards to help promote the title at community events was something no one expected at the time -- it showed that you and the team cared about the community market too. those were good and simpler times.

@Harada_TEKKEN Harada and Itagaki lore? Don't mind if I do.

@Harada_TEKKEN They need to make an anime based on this post.

@Harada_TEKKEN What a great story. Took me right back to my childhood arcade days.

@Harada_TEKKEN Wow this was a joy to read! Love the history!

@Harada_TEKKEN Appreciate the behind the scenes glimpse into a chapter of your shared sagas.

@Harada_TEKKEN This is super interesting, thank you!

@Harada_TEKKEN This is Amazing. I think Mr. Itagaki is insane and gaming as a whole was better for it. Thanks for sharing.

@Harada_TEKKEN "Yes, Mr. Itagaki had thoroughly researched my background and discovered that I was his junior. From then on, he started referring to me as his junior and speaking to me in the casual tone of a senior addressing a junior, dropping the polite language entirely." This is hilarious

@Harada_TEKKEN A whole damn article from your perspective, thanks for all the info.

@Harada_TEKKEN Thanks for sharing these stories. Although I was a fan of Tecmo/DOA/Ninja Gaiden, Mr. Itagaki actions baffled me. In the end, it’s good to know it was a “work” akin to a Pro Wrestling angle and that you became pals eventually.

@Harada_TEKKEN I would like to read a manga based on this plot. Quick, someone please call up Mr. Shoutaro Tokuno, the author of "New Game!"

@Harada_TEKKEN Honestly, this is mostly what I expected, that his attacks were a media strategy. I had assumed you were in on the idea though, it must have felt harsh to face that unexpectedly. But I'm glad you could come to an understanding later on.

@Harada_TEKKEN Harada bro I love you and your work but imma just take your word for whatever you said I ain’t reading all that

@Harada_TEKKEN I’m glad I read through all of this The day you decide to write a book about your experiences as a game developer, I’ll be one of the first to purchase.

@Harada_TEKKEN since the feud is resolved can we have ryu or kasumi in tekken :3

@Harada_TEKKEN That's crazy. Anyway, where's Anna? 🙂

@Harada_TEKKEN Harada sensei is so cool

@Harada_TEKKEN After reading all of this, I understand much more now. I will say that perhaps you should check up on your rival. Those calls may be a bit unexpected but I feel he did enjoy the bond you two made through the rivalry.

@Harada_TEKKEN You weren't lying, Harada-san... that was a LONG read, but so insightful into how developers employ strategies to market themselves to the same community (the FGC) by making slight jabs at the competition even though Mr. Itagaki held no animosity towards you for decades.

@Harada_TEKKEN Amazing english skills harada, can you ever show them off live or you still need translators?

@Harada_TEKKEN Thank you for sharing this Mr. Harada! Very interesting read! You and Mr. Itagaki are my favorites. I think this need to be made into into a documentary film! I'd watch it from start to end! 🤩

@Harada_TEKKEN And now that I think about it, the marketing of DoA was a slight bit juxtaposed to Tekken in the West. At least, now we know why. Granted, Itagaki did what he had to do because by Tekken 3, nobody was stopping that franchise, and you had to stand out to even be noticed.

@Harada_TEKKEN Legendary thread. Bookmarked

@Harada_TEKKEN Interesting interaction between fighting game devs. Thank you for sharing. 🥷

@Harada_TEKKEN What a great story

@Harada_TEKKEN This was an incredible story to read. Thank you for going in-depth with this detail, it was very interesting to read the history between you & Mr. Itagaki!

@Harada_TEKKEN Hello @Harada_TEKKEN Any hope for a future game in TEKKEN Universe but without being a fighting game? Like Tekken: Death by Degress or SoulCalibur: Legends. I would love an RPG with Tekken characters.

@Harada_TEKKEN Itagaki is like that harsh but actually not confident about himself Senpai in an area he thought he's very good at. He's envious but at the same time he seems accepted that he's not as good as he thought he was; but won't show it. Especially to a Kohai.

@Harada_TEKKEN GREAT READ. Two legends.
