The biggest medical scam: ADHD. It’s not a mental disorder, it’s a superpower in disguise. Here’s how you turn ADHD into hyper-focus (backed by science):

1 in 10 children has ADHD. There's recently also been a rise in ADHD in adults. But what is ADHD actually?

ADHD is an attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. It makes it hard to focus and control impulses. It's best explained with a short video:

ADHD has 3 main signs: • Impulsivity • Inattention • Hyperactivity There are many different symptoms:

ADHD isn't a disorder. It's simply tuning out when you don't care about something. Gabor Maté says that your childhood may play a role:

The brain of people with ADHD works differently. It's not so much attention deficit. It's more selective attention for things you care about.

So ADHD isn't attention deficit disorder. It's selective hyper-focus. You can focus extremely well on things you care about. But you can't focus on things you don't care about.

ADHD can also overwhelm you. It's not that you don't know what to do. It's that you have 10 different thoughts at once. This can lead to inaction called ADHD Paralysis.

ADHD is related to a lack of dopamine. Which makes it hard to focus on things you don't care about. This is why people with ADHD sometimes self-medicate.

Boys are diagnosed with ADHD more often. This hyperactivity could be caused by external conditions. Jordan Peterson explains it better than I ever could:

Medication is a double-edged sword. It can improve focus and reduce impulsivity. But Adderall and other medications are addictive.

Medication can lead to desensitization. Which can make you unmotivated, tired, depressed. Too medication can actually make your ADHD symptoms worse.

You don’t have attention deficit. You have different attention. You don't need to get rid of ADHD. You need to use it. Here's how:

Do a system reset. • No p*rn • No medication • No alcohol and drugs If you can't quit, limit your use of it. After 30 days you'll feel much better.

Meditate to train your focus. Look at mindfulness as a muscle. This muscle gets stronger every time you notice that you get distracted.

Find works that feels like play. You do your best work in a flow state. This is when your skill level is just high enough for the task. This increases your focus and work enjoyment.

Have compassion for yourself. Self-hate will make it worse. Compassion will make it better. It's not easy but try to do your best.

Lastly, focus on your ADHD needs:
