#NeZha2 #藕饼 Artist: https://m.weibo.cn/detail/5138... I saw someone's interesting analysis on this "friend vs lover" thing with #Oubing and she's onto something. Her point was even though as far as we can tell they have just a very powerful platonic friendship, it maps to romantic love better. This is because friendship in real life are not "exclusive". If person A is best friends with person B, you can't expect person B to be the only friend that person A have and vice visa. You can have many best friends and you can't expect your best friend to only have you as their only best friend. On the other hand romantic love is expected to be exclusive. Generally the expectation is if two people are in love no one else can be romantically involved with either of them. Nezha and Aobing's whole 'they were halves split from chaos orb' thing means their relationship IS exclusive. Even though it looks like friendship the arrangement is actually a perfect match for romantic love, that's why it's so easy to see them in that context.
Another of her point is also their relationship is very well developed on screen, for a friendship that is. If you want to see them in a romantic context the one ingredient missing is physical attraction. So if you're writing story shipping them that's the main thing you need to build up.
If you ask me though, there is physical attraction and I can pin point when it happened:
