🚨 Visiting Japan Changes You as a Person I Spent Last 2 Weeks in Japan 🇯🇵 And Everyone Should Visit This Country Once Here’s Thread With All Important Details
1) Flights and Itinerary ✈️ ANA and Japan Airlines usually run ‘Round Trip’ promotions for around ₹40,000 Otherwise ₹25,000-30,000 with Low Cost Airlines and ₹50,000-₹60,000 for Direct Flights ANA is such an Excellent Airline 👌
But here’s a real deal 💰 You can get 2 complimentary internal domestic flights within Japan if booking during ‘Hello Blue Sale’ Have shared exclusive updates for Our WhatsApp Channel Members. Join Over 10K+ people here: https://whatsapp.com/channel/0...
Sample Itinerary 📝 Feel free to take help of Perplexity or other AIs, read Reddit threads and experience of other travellers to plan based on your likes and interests
2) Visa for Japan 🇯🇵 Japanese Visit Visa is one of the cheapest (₹500 Visa Fee) and fairly easy to get if all the documents are in order Here’s a very brief Thread with step by step instructions and how to apply 👇
Make refundable bookings in case the Visa is Rejected Or use credit cards with ‘Cancel for Any Reason Insurance’ Even if you cancel ‘Non Refundable Bookings’ this card takes care of it well 0 Forex Markup 32 Airport, 16 Railway Lounge Check/Apply Here: https://bitli.in/69p39pn
3) Accommodation 🏨 Good Hostels are available from ₹1500 to ₹3500 per night Hotels might start anywhere from ₹5000 Japanese hostels and capsules are super well maintained and full of quality. They clean everything like 2-3 times a day.
💡Tip: Find hostels/hotels very near to a Metro or Subway Station. This will save time and money because Cabs are very expensive and Japan is extremely well connected
4) Public Transport 🚇 Get a PASMO or SUICA Card Probably one of the most important thing in Japan, you’ll need to use it everywhere from Trains, Metro, Subway, Buses, Monorail, day to day expenses etc. Get this as a first thing when you land in Japan
Japanese public transport network is massive and overwhelming for many people You’ll take 2-3 days to get comfortable, it’s easy if you follow some basics Google Maps is accurate most of the time and you can also download Japan Travel app. Trains run minute by minute here
5) SIM and Mobile Internet 🛜 Data isn’t cheap in Japan and Airports will try to sell you higher prices Activate International Roaming if you’re Jio Prepaid User (recharge IR for Postpaid) for calls to/from India For Mobile Data, buy eSIM from a trusted provider.
• Tip : eSIMs are better and super convenient. Another recent thread to help you understand about eSIM better
6) Grocery and Essentials 🛒 7 Eleven and Family Mart is available at every corner and town of Japan You can buy essentials like groceries etc Beware of ingredients in food items, use Google Translate or Lens
7) Currency (INR/JPY) 💹 ₹10,000 = ¥17,000 Or simply divide Yen 💴 by 1.7 to get the INR pricing otherwise download ‘Convertor’ App. Works offline for most currencies
8) Cash Withdrawal at Japanese ATMs 🏧 I used Fi Federal Debit Card (Infinite Variant - Min ₹50K AMB) for 0 Forex Markup and/or IndusInd Exclusive Account For shopping I use these Credit Cards • Axis Bank Olympus • ICICI Times Black • HDFC Infinia and BizBlack
9) Meals and Online Ordering 🍱 I’m vegetarian and it’s difficult to find pure/only veg restaurants in Japan There are limited number of good Indian Restaurants that we tried and liked few of them. UberEat works Not to mention Indian food is expensive in Japan so plan better
💡 Tip : Pack Haldiram’s/MTR ready to eat food, Maggie ready to eat noodles or whatever Indian Food you like. This will save you many times If you’re someone like me do carry Dry Fruits, Laddoo, Bhujia, Chat Masala etc I did this mistake, sharing so you don’t repeat the same
10) Bullet Train (Shinkansen) 🚄 One of its kind experience, feels surreal. You can buy the tickets on platforms like Klook But I Redeemed Bullet Train Tickets, 2 Attraction Passes, Free eSIM with my @TimesBlackCard. But How?
Times Black @TimesBlackCard Offers ₹10,000 Gift Card on ₹2 Lakh Milestone You can redeem it for the experience and attractions. I used the gift card on all activities and fetched great value out of it. My review of Times Black Card : https://x.com/ravisutanjani/st...
11) Travel and Attraction Pass 🎫 Klook has so many different options for Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima The passes includes access to public transport during the pass validity, major attractions, shopping etc
Referral - Use my link to get ₹400 off your first booking! https://s.klook.com/c/mXkxAv8M...
12) Shopping 🛍️ Yodobashi Akiba, Yodobashi Camera, EDION etc are some of the large shopping malls and chain in Japan Again, very overwhelming experience given so many varieties and options Quality and pricing is such a deal iPhone Pro variant are among the lowest
13) Airport Lounges 🛄 For Airport Lounges at Delhi Airport Departure and in Japan I again used ICICI Bank Times Black Credit Card and it’s complimentary Priority Pass Membership
That’s wrap, thanks for reading Hope you like this and it helps in planning your next Japan trip. It’s a one of the best country I ever visited and will definitely visit again 🇯🇵❤️

@Ravisutanjani Alternatively, you could get the Hokuriku arch pass for unlimited Shinkansen rides on the Tokkaido line. And also it's worth going to Tohoku and Hokkaido regions instead of the beaten path of Kyoto, Osaka.
@VamossssRafa Thanks, will consider next time Also Hokuriku Arch Pass comes at ¥30,000 (₹17502) while I redeemed my ₹10,000 Klook Gift Card from Times Black Card for Shinkasen
