This is a perfect encapsulation of liberal pathology. Say you need a blanket for your baby. You can get one from a Chinese undercut knockoff seller on Amazon, or your cousin who knits for a living with a small business. Your cousin loves making these, will make it with care, and uses natural thread from a local supplier in their hometown. It'll last a lifetime, it'll support their business and their family (aka, your family too). Normally they would charge $30 but they've offered to give you a family discount, asking only for $20. By contrast, the Chinese seller will use low quality, scratchy polyester, which will fray after the second wash and cause your baby rashes. You'll have to buy another one in a few years. They lobby the government to ignore intellectual property laws and get tax breaks to scale their business, using your money to undercut other American businesses and pump the stock price of some soulless conglomerate that you've never heard of, whose CEO makes fifty gorillion dollars a year. They used to charge $10, but because they've cornered the algorithm on Amazon they now charge $15 for the same product (due to inflation, so they claim), despite production costs being cheaper than ever. So yes I would rather buy a product from someone I know and trust that will last longer and isn't poisonous, where I know my money will do some good and contribute to someone of my own kith and kin, instead of boosting the shareholder value of some faceless corporate entity based in China owned by global capital, which stole their product design from someone else and simply undercut the market by using lower quality materials while exploiting import and tax loopholes. Liberals would rather choose the worse quality foreign product. They literally feel more of a personal connection to a random Chinese corporation than to their own families, whom they deeply resent.
Now imagine this for EVERY SINGLE PRODUCT on the market today. Want to know why life is so expensive? This is why! People buy cars - cars for God's sake - every 3-5 years. That is insane. You used to buy an American car and it would last 10-20 years. And guess what? The foreign made cars are not only worse quality but they aren't even cheaper anymore. They're more expensive than ever and lower quality than ever. But because corporate cartels and government regulations have cornered the market and stifled competition, there's no alternative. So no, I don't care what happens to some megacorporation that has made life a stress riddled consumer squeeze and destroyed our vibrant way of life to boost their own stock returns. The economy is just one big wealth extraction effort by the ruling elites against heritage Americans. They've siphoned our future away with cheap baubles and trinkets. No more.
