why full time trading is destroying you 👇 one of my students recently asked me: "why shouldn't I quit my job and trade full time, when that's what you did?"

It was a valid point. When I first made $500+ on single a trade in 2018, I traded 24/7. So much that I gave myself insomnia for years. I made lots of money, but now I realise that was a trap.

When you're not profitable, it feels like you're drowning. You're just trying to get to the surface so you can breathe. I know the feeling: I used to lock myself in my room for weeks, obsessing over my system, hoping it would finally click. But there's an easier way to win

When you spend all your time trading, your entire identity becomes trading. Your self-worth is tied to your P/L. When you make money, your ego inflates, and you overtrade. When you lose money, your self-worth collapses, and you revenge trade. Either way, you make mistakes.

I used to think the charts were supposed to be an emotional rollercoaster, that only the strongest could navigate. Now I know the biggest trait for when you've become an advanced trader is when trading starts to become boring. That's when you've "made it"

Now, my best trades are cold, stoic and completely detached from my P/L. I'm entirely focused on the execution of my rules and remaining emotionally bulletproof. All profitable traders I know operate the same way too.

They have eventful lives outside of trading. They read, take care of their health, spend time with loved ones, and pursue other interests. Many of them even still have full or part-time jobs, and this is actually a superpower.

The beauty of having a part-time or full-time job around your trading is, -It forces your identity to detach from trading -It reduces your financial dependency on P/L These are far more valuable than the extra hours you could spend trading full-time, especially at the start.

If you're struggling to make trading work right now, the answer isn't to go all in. Ironically, it's to care a little less. Stop focusing on 'making $500 a day' Start focusing on doing the things daily that will lead to the destination:

Show up daily. Study. Journal. Trade. Review. Improve. That's it.
