With deep sorrow and heavy hearts, we share the tragic news of the passing of Alsadig Abaker Haroon, who succumbed to his injuries after a shell struck his home in El Fasher on the evening of Friday, April 25, 2025. Alsadig served as the supply coordinator for the SAPA Kitchen in Zamzam camp. He was one of the founding members of this humanitarian effort, volunteering tirelessly and selflessly from the very beginning. His unwavering commitment was focused on one goal: ensuring that displaced children and their families had food to eat in the most difficult of circumstances. During the first attack on Zamzam, Sadiq refused to evacuate. As the last remaining supervisor representing SAPA in the camp, he chose to stay behind, upholding his responsibility and standing firm in service to others. We have not only lost a colleague, but we have also lost a brother, a dear friend, and a symbol of compassion and resilience. We extend our deepest condolences to Sadiq’s family, loved ones, and all those whose lives he touched. His legacy of service and sacrifice will never be forgotten. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.
