It might seem to contradict what was said in the previous section, that Germans began to see Slavs as part of the European racial family, but we must emphasize that as Germans researched these peoples more, they found more discoveries that changed their minds. The Generalplan Ost was not a single plan; it was several, most of which were destroyed, except for what we now know as Erhard Wetzel's letter. While I cannot include the entire document because it is quite extensive, it is a detailed plan for the Germanization of Eastern Europe, as well as the expulsion of its inhabitants to make way for German colonization. What is currently being exposed is a fragment of that plan, which details how racial research conducted by Reich anthropologists found that, in this case, the Russians could not be racially considered a mixed race between European and Asian, as they had initially been, but rather a nation with a high concentration of Nordic blood. While this would appear to elevate the Russians as equals to the Germans, it was actually seen as a danger to the German nation due to the potential they could possess.
