Disturbing idea about America I'm believing more in. The nation was founded on racism - there can be no doubt - and by eliminating racism you eliminate the nation. Liberalism at its best challenged this idea but it failed. We can't be both authentically American and non-racist./
The more we eliminate racism the more we devolve into a random collection of people who just happen to be here by historical accident. Racism gives is our identity and character. We actually are deeply invested in racism. /
Racism is actually a kind of binding force of the American national identity. But it's like a negative force, where positive is negative.
Perhaps we need to evolve from racism to a kind of racialism. I often felt liberals were more aghast at race itself, than racism.
Israel makes me understand America more. I mean this is absolutely them.
