👉 In the Sāṅkhya-Yoga tradition, your mind is made of 3 Guṇas — fundamental qualities of nature: 🔴 Rajas – restlessness, craving, overactivity ⚫ Tamas – darkness, inertia, dullness ⚪ Sattva – clarity, calmness, wisdom Your mental health depends on which dominates.

👉 Modern stress, anxiety, and depression? They are mostly Rājasic and Tāmasic imbalances. — Too much stimulation, ambition, speed (Rajas) — Or helplessness, confusion, addiction (Tamas) But Sattva brings mental balance, joy, and deep inner strength.

📌 What is Sattva? Sattva means “that which is luminous, pure, uplifting.” It makes your mind: — Calm but alert — Detached but compassionate — Focused but expansive — Joyful but stable It’s inner harmony — not just absence of disease, but presence of light.

📌 Sattva is the original therapy for the mind. Our Rishis never separated mental health from spiritual health. They taught: “A Sāttvic mind is the foundation of Yoga.” — Bhagavad Gītā, Chapter 14 Without Sattva, even meditation is shaky.

📌 So how do you build Sattva in daily life? Not with pills. Not with distraction. But by purifying your inputs — food, thoughts, environment, company. Here’s the ancient Sattva lifestyle formula 👇

🔹 Ahāra (Food): You become what you eat. Sāttvic food = • Fresh • Vegetarian • Cooked with love • Light, nourishing, not excessive Avoid stale, overly spicy, fermented, or packaged junk — they breed Tamas and Rajas.

🔹 Vihāra (Daily Routine): The mind reflects the rhythm of life. Sattva is built by: • Waking early (Brahma Muhurta) • Gentle Yoga & Prāṇāyāma • Reading uplifting texts • Serving others selflessly • Spending time in nature

🔹 Saṅga (Company): Your inner state mirrors your outer circle. Being around Sāttvic people = • Calm conversations • Inspired minds • No gossip, no drama • Encouragement over ego As the Upaniṣads say: “You are the fifth of the four you walk with.”

📌 Svādhyāya & Satsang (Scriptural Study + Company of Truth): Read the Bhagavad Gītā, Yoga Sūtras, Upaniṣads. Why? Because truth purifies the mind. These timeless texts are not just for monks — they are manuals for Sattva, designed for your soul.

👉 Sattva doesn’t mean suppression. It means sublimation. It doesn’t deny emotions. It transforms them. • Anger → Action • Fear → Faith • Craving → Contentment It’s not a dry discipline. It’s living in light.

In today’s world, we chase dopamine. But what we need is Sattva. It’s the real self-care. It’s the real antidepressant. And it’s 100% natural, time-tested, and spiritual.

👉 Mental health is not just about reducing pain. It’s about discovering clarity, joy, and truth — your original state. That state is called: Sattva. Let’s return to it. Let’s rebuild our inner temple — the Sanātana way. 🙏
