#SunnyDayJack #SnaccpopStudios I'm gonna explain about what has happened behind closed doors regarding the Snaccpop studios and the development of SDJ for the last 4 years, this said by former employees I open thread 🧵 (Bring something to eat because it's going to get long)

Before I start, this is what I understood at the time when all the relevations happened at the beginning of the last year. My first language is Spanish, and there may be things I misinterpret when listening to and reading the testimonies. Please correct me if any of this is wrong

1.- Sunny Day Jack has only 10% advanced I'm development. Many will already know this, during these four years, SDJ has only had a small percentage developed. The reason is because SNACCPOP has concentrated its attention to other games (TGOGM and others)

And what's that 10%? Aside from the constant style redesigns, it's been the same as always since the first extended beta back in 2021/2022 with just a few additions (Introducing MC, Jack, the yogurt game, meeting Nick, calling Ian, options to kiss him and say we're taken by Jack)

I have a theory that the reason TGOGM was the only complete game was because of the now defunct Enzō-Snaccpop alliance, and that TGOGM was a desperate way to deliver something to them, that's why that game feels like was rushed and after that, the alliance broke between these two

2.- Blanning of the game. What do I mean by this? Well, Jambee/Sauce it's Anti, which is fine if there are differences of ideas and feel uncomfortable with it, but Jambee does not like this content even if it's fictional, and according to them, Jack's behavior it's proship.

And if you have paid attention, you will notice that Jack has changed his approach; he no longer coerce MC by insisting or using paranormal magic on them to agree doing stuff they aren't sure to do or want to when you do the "Don't make it weird" and the "No" route.

This is made more evident in the latest extended beta available behind the Patreon paywall (If you ask me, it's a mean, gut-rumbling move.)

Well, all this is because Sauce/Jambee wanted to bleach Jack's personality to make him more "healthy" within what can be as a " Yandere ", continuing with this changing to be the most friendly possible. In a nutshell, They did something that I call Yanderebaiting.

I also have the theory that it's because they wanted to take advantage of the yandere VN game boom brought about by YBG, which isn't a bad thing. Everyone wants that piece of the pie at some point, but changing everything that made your game famous just for a tantrum? Not cool.

3.- Loss of focus and internal discussions of the company. Sauce doesn't want to continue with SDJ because they no longer has the desire to do so, focusing their attention on the making of other games, doing commissions behind the Snaccpop Patreon, etc.

Obviously the employees entered into discussion because, while some supported Sauce left and right, others wanted to continue developing it by commitment to the patrons and fans that have been waiting for years, advocating for it, but Sauce ignore them.

4.- Alleged game crash and file loss. In the middle of last year, the SDJ official account announced that, due to disregards between an ex-employee, the game was "kidnapped", a negotiation started with them to return the game. That was fake... At least part of it.

What happened was that the programmer was arguing with Sauce on changes of mechanics and engines of the game to make it lighter, optimized and add queer-friendly details. Sauce did not want to accept to authorize these changes, causing a discussion because differences of ideas

And moments later, the entire Snaccpop studio staff let him go and blocked any contact with them. But it was their loose because the game engine and programming itself were from this programmer, who had control and handling, and by losing all contact with them, the studio lost+

+any access to the game, the studio reached out for them and they tried to make it seem like it was that programmer's fault.

As for the loss of Sauce's computer and files, that was completely true. As convenient as it sounds, their computer suffered a serious failure, some described it and I quote: "It literally exploded and that shit burned down."

5.- Kickstarter and Patreon. Now the question that everyone is asking... Is still the KS money anywhere? To the surprise of some and to no surprise to all, the answer is no, at least not the majority of it.

Part of the money was used for the game, such as to pay the VA for re-recording lines and the recording new ones, paying the employees, but beyond that, nothing more. Allegedly, most of the money was used for the development of TGOGM

As for the Patreon money, that it's aimed to the staff's personal pockets in the studio, including Sauce. Regarding the KS rewards, some fans declared that they haven't them, and a few have received these rewards.

Jambee and Snaccpop in general have washed their hands of the matter, not saying anything more regarding the KS rewards and in fact they harass those who continue to insist and demand.

6.- Characters' past and endings of their respective routes (discarded material) Some have given us what could have been several data referring to the characters and even their final outcomes. Sooo... ⚠️ POSSIBLY MAJOR SPOILER ALERT ⚠️

Jacktor: He wanted to be a renowned actor of Hollywood, fleeing from his abusive home in an attempt of independence and struggling, accepting a job as an actor for adult films to afford living, then leave it and get a job as a host in the Sunnytime Crew show

A work he really enjoyed and at the same, time feeling ashamed and guilty of his old life. And once he started working there, he began to feel good about himself, trying to treat the children the way he would have liked to be treated at their age

Jacktor's life ended one of his crazy fans found out everything related to his life as a porn actor, and in an attack of anger blinded by their parasocialism and disappointment it led them to end Jacktor's life.

Ian: The reason for his infidelity was because of his own insecurities, summarizing that the reason was to demonstrate his "manhood", which in the end, he ends up confessing and regretting it.

In the good end, Ian ends up making a trip to find himself, moving away from the reflectors and being a better person for himself and MC, notifying this through letters that sends to MC.

Jack: In previous versions, Jack would be even more ruthless, using MC for his own benefit for his survival or anything else. He never developed romantic or affective feelings and his only goal is to be alive again by any means necessary

In the good end, Jack and MC become friends with the latter helping him to get into the afterlife and finally rest in peace. In the bad end, Jack kills with everyone, even MC.

Shaun: In the good ending, he becomes a renowned film producer. The reason why there is not much of Nick or Shaun is because they haven't worked enough on them, much less Nick, a character added in the last second and the studio doesn't known how to add him in the game and lore.

7.- Contempt for the Spanish-speaking community on the part of the studio and racism. Okay, this is messed up. And even more so for me and several of my friends who are Latin. If you, as a Latin or Spanish-speaking person, have experienced this in the community, please speak up.
