The My Hero Academia Horikoshi Kohei Exhibition was absolutely amazing 🥹 The best part was the large sketches on the wall that Horikoshi drew of almost every major character with some having commentary on what is being displayed. Here is my master thread! #ヒロアカ展

The Exhibition is super strict, so no photos, videos, or even note taking was allowed 😵‍💫😵‍💫 However, the new art illustrations that are inside the official Horikoshi Kohei Exhibition pamphlet, so you can see the drawings if you purchase the pamphlet: https://www.aitaikuji.com/cata...

Horikoshi has comments on some important moments manga panels, and the one I remember most distinctly is Kamino’s Bakugou rescue and All Might vs AFO battle where he says he is thankful to All Might and Kirishima for essentially saving My Hero Academia as a series itself. Right

I will first go over the new art that Horikoshi has on display at the Exhibition as well as the comments (summarized as they didn’t let me take any notes at the exhibition 😭). All of the new art are snapshots taken by Deku post Chapter 431, and everyone are adults now.

I unfortunately cannot share the photos in the pamphlet as it’s against copyright in Japan, but I will describe each art piece! The first one on display at the exhibition was Lady Nagant with very long hair, who is seated in front of a computer and drawing new glasses design on

Second illustration is Hagakure wearing her new Hero costume. It’s quite a sultry art where she’s making a 😏 face and showing off her costume. Deku’s comment (the new illustrations are presented in a kind of scrapbook written by Deku) says thay Hagakure’s quirk keeps bugging

Third colored illustration is older Todoroki and Bakugou walking to some restaurant together. Bakugou is looking at his phone, and Todoroki points at him with his thumb. The comment Deku writes is that Bakugou is really familiar with this area’s restaurants lol

The fourth Horikoshi colored illustration is Iida taking off his glasses and squinting, and Deku writes “I guess your eyes get tired easily when you get older” or something along those lines lmao 😭

The fifth new art illustration is older Kirishima looking SO GOOD 😭 and standing next to Ojiro, who looks equally as handsome lmao. He is at a barbecue with friends and his hair is half covering his face and Ojiro is sweeping his hair back. The comment says it’s been a while

The sixth illustration is an older Shinso looking out a window and having most of his hand blocking the camera view lol. I unfortunately don’t remember what Deku wrote here 😅 But Shinso looks mildly pissed he’s getting his picture taken

The seventh photo is of older Koda and Shoji with his face showing. Koda is smiling with his eyes closed and Shoji is laughing. The comment was something along the lines like “Koda said something funny, making Shoji laugh” lol

The eight illustration is Ochako and Tsuyu on a trip somewhere and the comment was something about the sky stretching very tall behind them. It’s a super wholesome photo of the two in a grass field. Ochako wears a sun hat and Tsuyu has her hair flowing in the wind. They’re both

The ninth illustration is and older Aoyama, Kaminari, and Ashido doing Kaminari’s Chargebolt pose and Deku comments that this pose is his signature fanservice pose. Aoyama is wearing bell bottom jeans, Kaminari is in the middle wearing a loose t-shirt and baggy pants, and Ashido

The tenth illustration is older Jiro and Yaoyorozu, who are walking down a hallway. They’re both making funny faces at the camera, and it looks like Jiro bought some groceries as she’s holding a paper bag with a bottle (beer?) and two packaged things. Jiro is wearing a black

The tenth new illustration is of an older Endeavor wearing a traditional hakama outfit and holding a can (I think?). I don’t remember what the caption was though 😩 He just looks very old but has a calm smile on his face.

The eleventh new illustration is older Tokoyami on patrol, and Hawks is next to him. The comment says that sometimes Hawks joins on his patrols! They’re both at the edge of a building looking at the city night scenery below them. They’re also are both doing the peace sign, and

The twelfth new illustration is an older Sero and Mineta, and they are at the beach on vacation. Sero is holding up his hands like 🙌 and Mineta is giving thumbs up on both his hands. Mineta has a bit of stubble as does Sero too

Sorry I clearly can’t count lmao, Endeavor is the 11th illustration Hawks and Tokoyami is 12th Sero and Mineta is 13th

The fourteenth new illustration is Sato with with his shirt off and stretching in what looks like a boxing ring? His upper body muscles are like, hyper defined lol I think the comment said something like Sato is a super reliable Hero haha

The fifteenth art is a really beautiful one, probably one of Horikoshi’s best thus far.l in the entire series. It shows and older Deku and Bakugou with All Might on a hiking trip together 🥹. The caption is something like it’s nice to have a break (I think that’s what he

I’ll continue with more info about the exhibition soon! Had to do some errands and go back home, but I’ll continue in a few hours with summaries and interesting points brought up at the exhibition and in the pamphlet! Watch this space for updates!

The sixteenth illustration is older Deku with his back turned towards the camera, and he is holding a camera in his hand. He’s the one who took all the snapshots from the new illustrations at the exhibition! Horikoshi writes that this “Snapshot” series of illustrations is to

The seventeenth and last new illustration that serves as the message card for those who attended the MHA Exhibition is art of older Mirio, Tamaki, and Nejire. Tamaki has short hair now, and Mirio has his arm around him as he does a thumbs up. Nejire is holding a lock of her own

Okay continuing now with more from the Exhibition. But first, here's the answer to the dozen or so DMs I got in the past few hours about this one Horikoshi interview part in the pamphlet about Deku and Ochako. Here's his answer, translated by me: https://x.com/aitaikimochi/sta...

So basically the entire MHA Horikoshi Kohei exhibition is just a journey through the entire series with real manga panels drawn by Horikoshi himself as well as sketches and storyboards from the series. It goes through the entire story from Chapter 1 all the way to Chapter 431.

Since the exhibition doesn't allow you to take notes (staff asked me to put away my pen and notepad after they asked me to put away my smartphone too lol), all that I'm writing down is just from memory. Thankfully though, the pamphlet does have some of Horikoshi's comments.

Horikoshi actually drew huge sketches of the characters on all the walls throughout the exhibition. The first new sketch you can see is a whole new rendition of Deku and Bakugou in their middle school uniforms facing each other. It's drawn in his current art style and looks

He draws all of these little sketches with either a black marker if it's on a white wall or a white marker if it's on a black wall. One of his comments says "Drawing such huge sketches is a first for me! It's actually really fun!" lol

There was a whole section for the Todoroki family at the Exhibition, and Horikoshi's comment on it was that writing the story surrounding the Todorokis was the most difficult part of the entire series for him. He knew that he wanted them to confront Dabi at the end, but getting

Horikoshi's comments on Bakugou's crying scene He says he was just going with the flow when drawing this and was like "ah yes, he's crying here" LMAO?? Horikoshi says that Bakugou was crying in place of Deku since it seemed like Deku wasn't that sad about losing his quirk. He
