chennai pride after-party (fling, tnagar) almost got us killed. the organizer allowed ppl more than the capacity in order to profit off of our suffocation (entry - rs. 400/-). there would've been a stampede if not for the timely intervention of my comrade 🧵
com sensed the stampede risk at 8:30 pm but ppl were coming in even at 9:55 pm. there was no air circulation, everyone's sweating like pigs, no way to walk to washroom. there was literally no room to even move ur hands
the organizer was v callous when we intimated him of the risks. he said we are "arguing" as if the urgency of the situation does not call for quick action. so-called queer organizers who tried to kill queer ppl by suffocating them in a small room
it took my com 45 mins to even get the organizer guy to not let any more ppl in. funnily enough all those so called queer spokespersons were more interested in dancing than other people's lives. i believe our lives are worth more than 400 rs
since it is prevented now everyone will move past it. nobody will face any accountability. worst pride #2025
