What we’re watching is the full influencerification of not just politics, but reality itself. Good-looking people are winning by default because they command the most attention. And they’ll do literally whatever the algorithm nudges them toward. I’m not exempt plenty of us in this industry are guilty of the same thing. Is what she’s posting even popular with her actual voter base? No. Nobody asked for it. But it’ll rake in likes, clicks, views, and attention which she’ll then spin into a narrative that people “love” her and it’s just the haters or libs who don’t. Let me be clear: the second this brand of politics stops trending, she’ll shift to the next grift. She’s not committed to ideas she’s committed to whatever works. The internet has made it so that none of us are real people anymore. We’re just walking barcodes. That includes me. That includes everyone. Do with that information what you will.
