The very specious industry argument is that this will allow for “discounts,” but in legal filings those players also acknowledge that in the absence of a “static” price, there’s no such thing as a cognizable “discount.” It’s just ubiquitous price discrimination.

@AsmChrisWard “Willingness to pay” pricing is a revenue-maximizing force that preys on consumer need and desperation. Some consumers may figure out how to game the algorithm to get a good deal, but the more equitable approach is a return to the transparent one-price store.
