4. Kalindi – The Waiting Devotee Daughter of the Sun God and river goddess Yamuna. She lived in a forest by the Yamuna, vowing to marry none but Krishna. He found her, accepted her love, and fulfilled her longing. Patience and purity are always rewarded by the divine.
5. Nagnajiti (Satya) – The Princess of Valor. Daughter of King Nagnajita of Kosala. To win her hand, Krishna tamed seven wild bulls effortlessly. She stands for feminine grace, while Krishna’s strength served as divine validation of love earned, not taken.
6. Bhadra – The Chosen Bride Daughter of King Dhrishtaketu of the Kaikeyas and Queen Shrutakirti. At her swayamvar, she chose Krishna herself. She reminds us that even queens are devotees, and even God honors their choice.
7. Mitravinda – The Silent Rebel Daughter of Jayasena, King of Avanti, and a cousin of Krishna. Though her brothers wanted her to marry Duryodhana, she had already given her heart to Krishna. Krishna rescued her, upholding her right to love and choice.
8. Lakshana – The Royal Grace Daughter of King Brihatsena of the Bhadra kingdom. Krishna won her in a swayamvar, where his glory and presence outshone all suitors. She represents royal beauty, humility, and the sacred feminine power attracted to divine consciousness.
These eight queens - Rukmini, Satyabhama, Jambavati, Kalindi, Nagnajiti, Bhadra, Mitravinda, and Lakshana - were not just wives. They were emblems of Shakti, each manifesting a unique virtue. Together, they complete the circle of divine love around Lord Krishna.
