I've been asked about the LA wildfire donation scandal. Here's the truth: it's standard operating procedure. In most nonprofits, only a small fraction of your donation reaches the front lines. If this qualifies as a scandal, then the entire nonprofit sector is a scandal.
@DataRepublican Having spent years in the non-profit eco system, they are all scams. Even the ones that do some good, there is still massive corruption. Non-profits are to a large degree just universal basic income for activists. And literal slush funds for elite activists.
@Proton4634 I'd love to hear more about your experience.
@DataRepublican The truth is that only a few non-profits are worth giving to at all. @DataRepublican can you name the most trustworthy NGOs for people to give to that just want to help?
@matt_vanswol Yes. Here's my opinion: 1. ALL charity aggregators and rating systems are useless. They are based on adherence to bureaucratic checklists. 2. Assume all large international nonprofits are compromised by political intelligence operatives. More on that later. 3. Giving
@DataRepublican Isn’t it “ironic” that some of the most powerful, influential, and well-financed “non-profits” are the brainchildren of 20th century billionaires? - Rockefeller Foundation - Ford Foundation - Carnegie Endowment for Int’l Peace - Gates Foundation - Open Society Institute (Soros)
@kylenabecker Small correction: intelligence agencies have never been separate from billionaire nonprofits. The founding father of the CIA, the one who convinced FDR the need for a central intelligence agency for psychological warfare, got his start in the Rockefeller Foundation. IMO, it's
@DataRepublican I’ve previously informed you of the requirement that a non-profit has to meet the standards of both 1. Being organized and 2. Operated according to IRS codes to maintain tax-exempt status. These are hard and fast rules.
@CFWBers Yes. Unfortunately the reason it isn't enforced is likely in rooted that global nonprofits have been infiltrated by the governments almost from the start.
@DataRepublican Remember @DataRepublican, you first heard about the LA Wildfire Concert fundraiser grift Friday morning from yours truly👇🏾 https://x.com/Dan_Schwartz/sta... Damn, I'm good!😆
@Dan_Schwartz Indeed :)
@DataRepublican Any thoughts on how it is decided who gets what? Obviously, it is intricate and complex but someone must be deciding how to route the money to the end recipients.
@RichRiff That's the tricky thing. You'd be shocked at how many large nonprofit directors have been historically involved in US intelligence and USAID / State Department. Henrietta Fore, Krish O'Mara Vignarajah, Gary R. Edson, Rajiv J. Shah, the list goes on and on.
@DataRepublican Yeah it need to be fixed
@DataRepublican Criminal negligence.
@DataRepublican Yes. So many of them look like that
@DataRepublican Do most nonprofits have celebrities claiming that 100% of the money will be paid out directly to victims?
@DataRepublican 95% of the non profit sector IS a scandal. The entire NGO structure needs to be ripped up and restructured with much more strict regulations and controls.
@DataRepublican Oh my that’s a lot of lines. Good work! 🫡
@DataRepublican Still no explanation why CalVolunteers disappeared from the Fire Aid website.
@DataRepublican Just before the LA Wildfires- This happened. ☠️
@DataRepublican @Greenmountboy76 This is why I decline all donations to any large non profit. It’s all a scam. Give directly to the needy.
@DataRepublican The entire nonprofit sector is a scandal. Got it.
@DataRepublican If you want to get rich start a religion or a "non-profit" NGO.
@DataRepublican This is why I give to my church because I know where the money is going!!! For the donations for the TX relief I gave to the Full Moon Inn where our friend hosts rescue teams. http://Roadhomeministries.com Check out their updates on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/share...
@DataRepublican Non profit means all the money goes their salaries. It’s a place for rich kids to get a paycheck. And DEI too
@DataRepublican The entire nonprofit sector is a scandal.
@DataRepublican Most nonprofits suck. (I say this as a nonprofit founder.) So many are inefficient and more about funding salaries than making impact.
@DataRepublican There’s only one reason behind spaghetti funding flows. Hiding the money. There’s an easy fix, too: 1) NGOs are prohibited from sending money to another NGO, and (while we’re at it) 2) NGOs are prohibited from receiving money from any government entity.
