Quick reminder that my issue was never with ffmpeg. I didn't mention them at all. My issue is the garbage implementation in the current version of VLC. I should have included like 2 extra words in my first post to clarify, my bad on that. https://x.com/theo/status/1952...

@theo you were plenty clear. the complaint was just that vlc uses an old ffmpeg version, and that newer versions fix all of vlc’s issues. how in the world did ffmpeg take that as a slight against them? you literally acknowledged that the issues were already solved in the same breath…
