Went to a new burger joint. Cheeseburger: $10 Bacon cheeseburger: $12 Order bacon cheeseburger Waitress: “FYI, bacon is extra” “Well, yeah, it costs $2 more” “No, there’s an upcharge” She says getting bacon on a bacon cheeseburger is an extra $2.50 on top of the price 1/4
Assume that the waitress is new and doesn’t know the initial $2 covers the bacon She flags a manager Manager comes over and says bacon costs extra I say I know, $2 He says no, that doesn’t cover bacon I ask what it’s for then I shit you not: “Because bacon costs extra” 2/4
“I know it costs extra, that’s the price difference between a regular burger and a bacon burger” “No, the price doesn’t include bacon” Once again, I ask what the $2 is for then and once again, he says it’s because bacon costs more I was caught in a circular reasoning loop 3/4
I just shook my head, laughed, and walked out Y’all, an incompetent front of house will kill a restaurant far faster than subpar food because people may forget a disappointing meal, but they never forget terrible service. 4/4
This is doing numbers and I don’t have squat to promote, so go check out my boy @TheMiddleborne’s online shop and get a badass, handcrafted Made In The USA wooden sword for you and your kids (link to his online shop will be in the bio)
@_HMSP Well you’re the dumbass here, not them. There’s a difference between a side of bacon & the amount of bacon that’s already on the bacon cheeseburger. There’s your price difference. You thought they were stupid, but you didn’t ask the right questions.
@_HMSP Omg some places make burgers with bacon in them. It took me a minute, but that's probably what going on. The bacon burger was $2 more because the patty CONTAINS bacon. The extra $2.50 was because you wanted to add more bacon to the bacon burger. You both left that interaction
@_HMSP Order the cheeseburger and add the bacon for $2.50 and just suck up the fact they stole 50 cents and don’t tip.
@_HMSP Why didn’t you just get a regular burger with the extra bacon? Lol
@_HMSP The two dollars is to aspire for bacon. To dare to dream. It’s another 2.50 to see it realized tho.
@_HMSP Sounds like California, they charge you for plastic bags, they charge for shopping carts, hell they even charge for credit/debit card usage at a fuel pump.
@_HMSP I would have ordered it this way: Hi, I’d like to order a cheeseburger and I want bacon on the side. That should be $10 + $2.50 for the bacon. So you want a bacon cheeseburger? No, not if you’re going to charge me $12 plus another $2.50. I’ll take a regular cheeseburger for
@_HMSP To genius people who say order Cheeseburger and add bacon: Only a "Bacon cheeseburger" has an empty slot to add bacons. Normal cheeseburger doesn't have a plug-in feature.
@_HMSP I ate at a diner in Chicago for breakfast. I ordered two eggs. One scrambled. The other over easy. The waitress informed me that it can't be done. Fried eggs were on the menu. Scrambled eggs were on the menu. Ordering one of each wasn't allowed.
@_HMSP Well it was nice of you to try to support black businesses
@_HMSP Ethnicity of all involved?
@_HMSP Just say you want a regular cheeseburger ($10) with Bacon ($2.5) and their minds will be blown by their stupidity. Then tip $0.5 less to cover that loss.
@_HMSP You just had to say “then give me a cheeseburger for 10 dollars and add bacon to it for 2 dollars”.
@_HMSP Where is this place? I kindof want to go in and argue with this manager. Be funny if this crappy burger joint suddenly goes viral with lines down the street but with nobody buying anything just there to argue about the menu prices. 😂 And it doesn’t sound like they’d even
@_HMSP I went through something similar Monday. "What do you want for your sides?" "Just fries." "Double fries costs extra." "I don't like the other sides, so just give me the one side of fries, not double. " "Double fries costs extra." This went on for some time. Eventually I
@_HMSP Ok so what if I order the regular cheeseburger and then add bacon? 🤦♂️
@_HMSP You should have asked what a side of bacon costs.
@_HMSP I would have asked, “what’s on the bacon burger that’s not on the regular burger.” Then when they replied bacon I’d have asked, “so that’s why the bacon burger is $12 and the regular is $10?” You must go back. For science.
@_HMSP If the cheeseburger costs $10 and the menu says the bacon cheeseburger costs $12, but the server and manager claim there is an additional upcharge of $2.50 for the bacon, bringing it to $14.50, you should have ordered a cheeseburger and added bacon for a total of $12.50.
@_HMSP the $2 is for the labor to put the bacon on the cheeseburger, parts are extra
@_HMSP Okay, I actually think I can solve this one. There were a few restaurants I went to where I ordered a bacon burger and didn't get bacon on it. I found out later that a bacon burger meant they put on a sauce that was bacon flavored.
@_HMSP Then just order a cheeseburger with bacon on the side
@_HMSP We are cooked
@_HMSP The only thing you could have done is just been a 2 year old and pointed to the Bacon Cheeseburger that was 12 on the menu and say "that one".
@_HMSP I went to a gas station and placed ice in the ice coffee cup. I placed a cup of hot coffee and the glass of ice in a ice coffee cup on the counter. The lady proceeds to ring up "ice coffee" when I stop her to say it's just ice. She says, you put it in the ice coffee cup... I
@_HMSP I went to Burger King and asked for a whopper with ketchup, lettuce and tomatoes only … she charged me for the lettuce and tomatoes … I said don’t they already come on a whopper? And she replied .. Yes, but you said you only wanted lettuce and tomatoes … No that wasn’t store
@_HMSP Can anyone guess how much extra for the jalapeños
@_HMSP I have a similar stupidity/amazement story. I was at a Walmart with a friend from Mexico and we were shopping for some food for the week and we got a 12 pack of beer. So after standing in line like Walmart makes you do (still don't know why they build 20 checkouts and have 2
@_HMSP Mfer… you should just got a cheese burger and added bacon then… lol tf You getting caught in a circular reasoning loop is mostly your fault. Because clearly they are dumb af and they turned you dumb also. lol
@_HMSP A $10 cheeseburger served by a waitress is cheap dude. Why you bitchn??
@_HMSP Should have just said “oh ok I’ll take a cheeseburger then add bacon”
