Ok, I am having a bit of trouble getting unreal engine to activate on the cluster, but it looks like on the main screen the car avatar is also controlled by it. Now you can interact with it and it's getting somewhat more detailed. See the example:
@greentheonly Thanks for digging into this. I remember in the original Cybertruck ride-along videos showed the vehicle driving through a 3D city in the onboard navigation. I know Google Maps has 3D buildings and topographical data available. Do you see any indications of the navigation viz
@CyberNeil I think some related bits also shown up
@greentheonly The interaction capability was there a long time ago.
@shundeshagen not on s/x
@greentheonly If this started showing in 2025.20, and we’re now on 2025.26, why haven’t we seen it yet?
@tregan01 Because it's still in development and Tesla does not enable this for regular people. You have to take matters into your own hands and enable it for yourself if you want to play with it.
@greentheonly So unreal engine is only for Model S &X?
@teslaplaidtokde at least for now
@greentheonly Out of curiosity, is it possible to enable us-like screen visualizations in Europe? We still see the same stuff since v11…
@nosekbk yes. There were many reports videos and whatnot over the years
@greentheonly Isn't using Unreal Engine for a simple 3D car animation a bit like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut, instead of more efficient solutions like Qt technology? Where can you look up what technologies Tesla uses to program their infotainment system?
@testtes71327120 they use qt too, in fact they mate unreal engine to qt so all parts play nicely together
@greentheonly How do we confirm if we have a dGPU in our vehicles? I thought I read Tesla shipped some S & X last year without a dGPU.
@greentheonly And I’m over here just trying to extract the Godot models for my home assistant dashboard…
@greentheonly I've seen that spin around view on 3, Y, and Cybertruck, but it seems like it was never activated on S and X.
@greentheonly Could this be used to allow the touch screen to select a parking spot for Autopark? I hate using the scroll wheel on my X, and wish we could choose like on the 3/Y
@greentheonly Don’t all teslas since at least 2020 do this?
@greentheonly Isn’t this default functionality of the newly 2025 refreshed S/X Palladium? I don’t have this in my 2024 Model X Palladium on 2026.26.6 however.
@greentheonly Thanks for posting. How super interesting. Wonder how you even do these things. :)
@greentheonly That’s sick! Thanks for all your post. Very insightful
@greentheonly Is there any change in the driving process?
@greentheonly Nice! It seems to me they’ve enabled it for 2026 S/X already
@greentheonly antialiasing? I have jagged edges everywhere on my old atom MCU
@greentheonly Hopefully they’ll make that full-screen in the UI for S and X — it still feels too small, especially when parked
@greentheonly Nice car!
