Pinnacle have confirmed that "Unfortunately, due to commercial reasons, our real-time API is no longer publicly available. We are making a delayed version of the API available to certain commercial partners." This has evidently impacted the odds comparison, including Oddsportal
Despite my best efforts to emphasise the point that delayed odds on odds comparisons are arguably less useful than worthless, no one is listening.
With respect to my data, going forward, whilst I will still include the Pinnacle odds, they will no longer contribute to the market max's/avg's, and anyone using the Pinnacle odds should not use them in conjunction with any of the other odds in the files.
This of course means that until this situation reverts, there will be no more Wisdom of the (Pinnacle) Crowd notifications.
Anyone wishing to research their own would be recommended to replace Pinnacle with Betfair exchange prices as the baseline "metric of truth", but of course for many pre-match odds, limited liquidity makes many of them less reliable.
Obviously Pinnacle believe that delaying their prices on odds comparisons is a profitable decision. We'll see how valid that proves to be going forward.
@12Xpert What’s the point of delayed API? makes no sense… this destroyed Blogabet and its reliability as well, as many people using vip-ibc which gives “not real” odds.
@nsanchis01 Yes, it's actually worse than pointless. They presumably decided that going forward, those whom it was serving do not represent a growing market for their profitability.

@LProbabilistic They use PS3838 which for now is unaffected. Same prices I believe, but lower limits.
@12Xpert I've been noticing many stale Pinnacle lines on oddsportal when tracking closing odds. Any consensus on other books to refer to with a sharp closing line in most markets?

@Zuxebb It's hard to say if it's just delays or also large (many hours) gaps in pings. If you look at Oddsportal, you can still see several odds movements over the course of 15 minutes for example, followed by a large break of many hours before a new set of pings.

@12Xpert API has always been expensive and not the answer anyway, fastest sites scrape pinnacle instead of using their api since there was always a delay or so I’ve heard
