Find the argument that Liverpool should have just let Newcastle sign Ekitike a bit odd. The messaging from Tyneside was that Ekitike was not an Isak replacement & Liverpool had also been interested in the player for months. To suggest #LFC signed him to be petty is a nonsense.
Also think the way Ekitike is being talked about in regards to this whole saga does him a disservice. Clearly a very talented player - hence why so many clubs were interested in him. Think, whatever happens with Isak, he’ll have an excellent season.
@beth_lindop I find the narrative that NUFC should let the player go for 40 mil below value a bit odd
@geordiek1892 Absolutely not what I’m suggesting. Newcastle have every right to hold out for a fee they deem acceptable. They also have a right not to sanction Isak’s exit until they find a replacement. My argument is that it was not Liverpool’s job to facilitate them finding that replacement.
@beth_lindop Ekitike was courted for months by LFC, if Newcastle used some brains they could of accepted Isak leaving and got their ideal replacement. It's entirely on them.
@beth_lindop Exactly, acting like we wanted to spite them. We even told them to sign Etikite and give us Isak cos we knew they are useless to attract a good striker
@beth_lindop It’s funny ekitike would’ve been man united bound if we didn’t get him.
@beth_lindop Hugo has rejected Newcastle’s advances for the last 3 seasons. He’d have gone to United if we didnt get him. Nobody wants Newcastle
@beth_lindop They signed him for style
@beth_lindop You tried to be clever and it’s backfired 🤣🤣 you’ve even sold your best left wingers to Bayern and Nunez to Saudi 🤣🤣🤣 if nekitike flops it’s going to look like that best window you were all on about just wasn’t 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@beth_lindop And you also need to take into account did Ekitike ever want to go to Newcastle, there are loads of idiots about saying Liverpool jumped in and nicked him but if Newcastle's transfer window is anything to go by they seem to have trouble with the average, never mind the star
@beth_lindop They’re fuming we got Ekitike, signing him & selling Isak would’ve solved all their problems + also paid for Wissa. Instead, we got Ekitike (who looks absolutely brilliant btw & the fuckers know it 😏) while they’re stuck with a striker who’ll never kick a ball for them again🤣🤣
@beth_lindop But to say you buying the guy we wanted hasn't hurt the deal is ridiculous... youve shot yourselves in the foot , that's not our fault P.s you can have him for free in 3 year's when he's 29 😉🏴🏳💪 price is still 150 million cash all upfront .. no add ons
@beth_lindop It was literally what was being briefed to Romano and Ornstein etc. "Give us Isak or we'll take Ekitike", "what a power play by Liverpool". Now they've fucked the Isak deal, it's our fault
@beth_lindop Obviously that's what the messaging was, they can hardly come out and say "yeah we're signing this guy to replace Isak" before having either deal in place.
@beth_lindop Liverpool are a well run club strategically it would’ve made no sense for Liverpool to put themselves in a position to jeopardize the season if Newcastle got Hugo and did not let Isak go. Newcastle created this problem by not negotiating at that time for Isak sale.
@beth_lindop Newcastle made the mistake of thinking they are a big club after winning one trophy. Thinking they could have Ekitike and Isak as thier 2 strikers when up against Liverpool.
@beth_lindop It's also being reported wrongly. NUFC blocked the Isak move then attempted to sign Ekitike - our backup to Isak. On doing so, we moved quickly to protect ourselves. This then set off the whole Isak meltdown. He obviously felt he'd missed his opportunity, similarly to how we felt
@beth_lindop Totally ignoring the fact that even if we didn’t go for him, what makes Newcastle think Ekitike wouldn’t have chosen Chelsea over Newcastle FFS 😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣. Simple minds those Geordies. They need to go shop in Netto first!
@beth_lindop Players come and go, always will. Liverpool tried their hardest to keep players such as Courthino. Suarez. Torres. Diaz. Etc. If they threaten to go on strike it's ended........
@beth_lindop The journalists from Tyne River collectively changed into amnesia, and now they no longer mention "442". But that doesn't mean they haven't mentioned this concept crazily in a period of time. Facts will be recorded, and history cannot be modified.
@beth_lindop They are just fuming they didn't get him, and rightly so as he is class. Why should NUFC be allowed to have both Ekitike and Isak, but LFC can't want the same having lost 3 attackers? A nonsense. We have Ekitike, and they have a CF on strike, so they are sulking.
@beth_lindop It’s not an argument, nobody is saying that, stop creating stories
@beth_lindop Yes, it is odd as Isak was not a guaranteed signing. You might find Etitike is much better VFM...
@beth_lindop @AnfieldSector He was our main target for monthsssss. Isak was more an opportunity that presented it self. All that groundwork on Eki just to get bitched by Newcastle having both? Lol nonsense
@beth_lindop Liverpool respected nufc . Approached them told them we want isak but if u dnt want to let go can we have ur target hugo, nufc was like go on
@beth_lindop The messaging was for the fan base though. At that stage there was no suggestion of Isak wanting off, so we were never going to say he was to replace him. The clubs/player would obviously know the true picture and that Newcastle's public stance wasn't the likely story.
@beth_lindop @AnfieldSector It’s almost completely imagined and not a little bit resentful that Liverpool got in the way of their ideal outcome of having Hugo & keeping Isak another season Also denied them an LFC desperate for a 9 needing to throw ridiculous £ at them for Isak, instead they have the issues
@beth_lindop it's not Liverpool's responsibility to "let" Newcastle do anything. They left the table for Isak so LFC moved on too. They told their player he'd be allowed to leave without securing the conditions for it, then told the bidding club he wasn't for sale. Made a mess for themselves.
@beth_lindop @AnfieldSector People think a club like Liverpool just throw 69m around to be petty. This is a club that is haggling over 5-10m pounds for Guehi. They will go a year without signing anyone to wait for the right signing but people think they just acted on impulse here.
@beth_lindop Just constant lying & changing narrative & arguments! They don’t see how thick they are!!!
@beth_lindop It's time to give isak saga a rest he proved he can be problematic of the pitch which is not good for dressing room use the cash have a try for Asemenyo or Jackson from Chelsea Wharton a good buy also check young Morgan out from villa we don't need sulkers once bitten eh
@beth_lindop @AnfieldSector Also knowing FSG who are very data driven there is a very low chance tend sign someone without doing all their homework which is not done in a short space of time.
@beth_lindop Messaging that you're replacing Isak is asking for your pants to be pulled down at the transfer table though?
