Ziigaat Luna IEM review: The studio experience with warmth. This is one of Ziigaat's latest releases, the Luna. This is a 6 BA driver IEM. I have covered every aspect of this. A thread ๐Ÿงต

Unboxing The unboxing experience is good, you get: - IEMs - Cable - Plugs 3.5mm and 4.4mm - Eartips of 2 types - Case - Documentation

Build and Design The build is good, and the design is good with the sparkly dust on the resin shell. The cable is decent too, I expected better though, but decent considering it is also a modular cable with multi plug termination. The case is also great and huge.

Comfort The comfort is good, but has one hassle for me, while inserting in ears it creates a weird pressure, however, after wearing, it doesn't cause problems as such and stay comfortable. The eartips are good, but they are of a similar material, which I don't like much, sticky

Specifications This is an all BA (balanced Armature) driver setup, with a total of 6 Sonion and Knowles combined. Drivability is not a problem, just use a decent DAC.

Sound The sound signature is interesting, it has the warmth and relaxed feel with the bass being the centre of attraction. The vocals sound decently thick, without being overly thick and losing the sense of cleanliness. Let's see if this is really a Studio set.

Bass Sub bass: The sub-bass is decent on this, nicely executed, not overly present, but decent enough to make its way. Also, the rumble makes it feel better controlled. But still not the set if you like sub bass in a prominent manner.

Mid bass: Mid-bass is more prominent as expected, it is a nicely boosted mid-bass. Gives a good sense of tactility, kinda precise, not very soft and wide spread, doesn't sound mushy, however it is not the best too in the regards, but is good.

The slightly boosted mid-bass might seem a bit bloated in a few cases and may make the vocals sound a bit thicker than usual, but mostly, it's fine and good. However, this is not a basshead IEM, but a warm one. Kick Drums and so sound nice.

Mids Lower mids: The male vocals sound lush, thick, or warm and cozy overall. The only part is that the male vocals may sound a bit recessed in the mix, not having enough forwardness to please many. Overall, I'd say it has enough warmth, not over, not congested overall.

Upper Mids: The upper mids are decent, quite well if you prefer a relaxed feel. To me, they have enough warmth, but they lack a bit on the energy, forwardness and the shine they need. But on a good note, they don't sound peaky, shouty or piercing or uneven.

Instruments sound good, though, rarely they may get a bit overshadowed by the bass and the thick mids, they do show a presence most of the time very well.

While they sound really good and I like how they're managed, a slightly forward upper midrange and presence region would've made them a bit nicer, especially for trumpets, guitar.

Treble Treble is similar, and the story continues, it is a smooth, relaxed treble, no unpleasant sharpness. Not fatiguing, no sibilance as such, has decent micro details, it doesn't sound dark. It has good clarity and details, also, suitable for many genres i'd say.

It comes with decent airiness, certain instruments like cymbals get the help, and have decent shimmer. But if you're the guy, who needs the very sparkly, shine and energy, this set might not please you.

Technicalities 1. Soundstage and Imaging: This IEM does very well with this part. The soundstage is decently wide overall, but I would say it's more of an intimate kind, but it got enough to tell you that it is one of the good ones.

Image in tweet by Rishabh Negi

This has a good imaging, it can be helpful in games, you can hear vocals passing through your head and ears in some songs without putting in an effort, telling about the direction of instruments.

Timbre: Timbre is okay, close to natural, not metallic or harsh and weird. However, some instruments and the over-warmth of vocals in certain scenarios shows a non-typical experience. Resolution: The resolution is great, i don't have any complaints, it does pretty well.

Dynamics: Dynamics are good, you can sense the instruments at low volume being there, sometimes they can amaze. I think this is more of a musical set than of a studio analytical set, but it still has great capabilities, as many may find this tuning neutral.

Comparisons This is a good set, but let's compare it with a few sets. Ziigaat Lush vs Luna: The Lush is a more warm sounding compared to this which is already warm. The mid-bass is a bit mushy compared to the Luna.

Image in tweet by Rishabh Negi

The Treble on Lush is even further relaxed which can give it a dark presentation feel for some. Both are overall a new meta kind of tuning, warm, thick sounding and relaxed. The technicalities are better on Luna. The accessories are better on Luna.

Tanchjim Origin vs. Luna Tanchjim Origin is a more vocal focused IEM. But the sub bass is not as good, the quality of mid-bass is inferior on Origin, mushy kind of. The Treble on Origin sounds more refined though. You have to choose your preference here.

Yanyin Canon Pro vs. Luna I like the Canon Pro more because of my preference. It has a lesser mid-bass which is good and tactile, and sub-bass on it sounds decently well too. The vocals sounds less but appropriately warm and more clean to me. Because of this, overall tuning

But on Luna, it is a more bassy set, with warmer vocals and relaxed presentation. Accessories are better on Canon Pro in my opinion. Also, you get tuning switches, so that's your choice.

End of the review. This review unit was provided to me by the lovely guys at @Linsoul_Audio As usual, all the opinions are mine. Luna: https://share.google/kwY4B7piI... You can buy your audio gear of liking from them, they deliver worldwide and have great service.
