Rosebank’s Hyatt Hotel just pulled a disappearing act😱 The hotel has been closed and mothballed since Covid-19, and now overnight, she has got new signage all over her with a new name: Royal Majestic Hotel. Rumour has it that the Hyatt Regency hotel still has 10 years left on

@askashbroker Saw that and was wondering what’s happening

@BbwMaturity Typing up an article as we speak. I’ll share soon. Keep an 👁️ on my page.

@askashbroker This is the beans we actually expect to hear from you, Maybe they just rebranded

@TalentNyonie I’m typing up an article as we speak, keep an 👁️ on my page😅

@askashbroker Not exactly the sexiest branding .

@andrewjpking Shiny gold accents is a very UAE design trend. The owner is based there.

@askashbroker Wasn't it sold on auction a while ago for just over R30m... Why does that come to mind...

@Brettbenraphael Not this property

@askashbroker I should buy this hotel, Ash

@Oriana_RSA Can I please come to the opening party🥳

@askashbroker Ask Investec ?

@knysnalurie I have and they were just as shocked to see the signs up as I was😅 Burstone Group (formerly Investec) used to own this hotel, but they sold it to the current owners. They’ve tried to buy it back over the years with no luck. The issue is, they still own The Firs retail complex

@askashbroker The Hyatt Hotel has moved down the Road to Melrose Estate. They bought the former Winston Hotel and are now operating as a boutique hotel. They are operational now, after closing the Winston for extensive renovations and refurbishments.

@Khanyi_Magubane There are two separate Hyatt’s in Rosebank with two seperate owners. The one you are referring to - Park Hyatt - is owned by the Millat Group. Everything you said is correct. They recently opened the Park Hyatt Johannesburg which is the old Winston Hotel which underwent a major

@askashbroker Interesting 🙆🏻‍♂️

@adamlipschitz I’m typing up an article about it. I’ll share soon.

@askashbroker @SizweDhlomo Really interesting to read will definitely be on the lookout for the article you busy typing.

@bonganisikhosa7 @SizweDhlomo Publishing today 🤞

@askashbroker That really looks like a Fong Kong hotel brand.

@alloyman_ 🤣😅

@askashbroker As long as they can influence a positive direction in the area then I m all for it.... lawyers and accountants can talk it out.... Rosebank used to be pleasant,now its just stressful.....(Folks know what I mean 😭)

@Gov_pub1 🙏🙏

@askashbroker They most likely defaulted on the brand rules. All over Africa the same story. Read up on the Hilton in Lusaka, Uganda.

@colin_porki Except slightly different story here… They have been defaulting for years.
